This year's Halloween short story has been uploaded to Patreon and Ko-Fi, and scheduled for October 31st at 8:30AM EDT. It's a little bit experimental, but not nearly as experimental as last year's. Not to spoil anything, but definitely check it out if you're a fan of fungal horror!
I really enjoyed the Resident Evil movie up until like the last two minutes, and I can already tell that I'm going to spend the next month thinking about why, exactly, the ending did not work for me. It's a "cool idea, awful execution" situation.
A real honor for me, Seann Barbour, to see the first 5-star review of my book, Nessalir the Red by Seann Barbour, from the illustrious reviewer and impeccable taste-maker, Seann Barbour.
[At Wildlife Control Operative class to get Bat Handling certification]
Instructor: So sometimes instead of hibernating, bats go into a state called "torpor."
Me, who has played Vampire the Masquerade: Yes I am familiar.
Every star in the sky is a god, and when a dragon sought to enter the realm of gods, she was frozen, curled up in the sky. She is the moon, and as she draws magic from the world to try and escape, the moon brightens. And when she loses that magic, it darkens.
Everyone always forgets about Quincy Morris and pretends that Van Helsing killed Dracula. But you know who didn't forget? Castlevania, which declared that the Morrises were actually an offshoot of the Belmont clan.
The novel Dracula being canon to the Castlevania is very funny, because apparently just this once Dracula didn't summon his big demon castle upon resurrection, and instead decided to go on vacation in England.
The fact that genre fiction spaces have spent the past few years pretending that craft, style, and theme aren't relevant has really left them completely vulnerable to AI grifters.
Personal hobbyhorse, but thinking about AI in publishing is really making me want criticism to go harder on discussing the actual style & substance of books. If we just talk about plot & vibes, we're leaving the door totally open, & missing out on the good stuff besides. "It's just words on a page."
Funniest trolling a game dev ever did was the "find the dwemer puzzle box" quest from Morrowind. You assume it'll be at the end of the dungeon, maybe on a pedestal. Nope! Sitting on a shelf in the corner of a side room near the entrance. Everyone walks right past it the first time.

I saw the caricatures and political cartoons first and I thought "man, people are being so mean to the Dell lady" and then I saw the actual photos and it was somehow even worse, she really looks like that, what the fuck what the fuck dude
Explaining Kingdom Hearts to my fiancée. She progressively gets more and more frustrated. Finally, I reveal that Sephiroth was voiced by Lance Bass. She breaks.
Employees of Wizards of the Coast, and company that has been known to employ the Pinkertons, have announced their intention to unionize. Godspeed and good luck.
I played the Switch demo, but I think I'm gonna end up getting the full game on PS5. There was a bit of slowdown at a few points and some really long load times.
Stede Bonnet in Fiction: "I met a pirate and admired his free spirit so much that I left my old life for adventure on the seas!"
Stede Bonnet in Actual History: "lol today I will abandon my wife and children to become a pirate for no discernible reason"
Incredible.
Blackbeard in Fiction: "Stede Bonnet is my friend, my companion, possibly more?"
Blackbeard in Actual History: "Yeah, Stede's useful because he's rich, but damn is he stupid. Can't wait to abandon that dumbass."
i guess no one wants corset pics or bruised ass pics… which sucks cause they’re great pics, but also cause i’m a bit fucked right now?
anyways, check out my links and send a tip if you wanna make my weekend a LOT less stressful 🫶😘
I think we underrate that JCO came up in 20th century New York literary circles where everyone said five most devastating insults before breakfast and as one of the last one standing, her competition is guys who get sad if their chatbot isn't sufficiently nice to them.
The entire Cornell situation is so fucking bleak that I just want into walk into the ocean. The essay writing thing is like a bad sitcom joke. Fucking hell.
