Fun fact: mono county is the only place in America where I checked into the hotel and was warned to take food out of my van and take it into my room due to bear fearlessness. also the scariest van camp night of my life in a separate instance because I am afraid of both bears and horses.

Staying in Yosemite Valley (not Mono County but close enough), we were told not only to take food out of the car, but also to remove the child car seats entirely because the bears had learned that "car seat" = "yummy crumbs everywhere".
