First bus picks em up. Capita organise it. G4S runs it. Skegness. Simples.

This stuff makes me so angry. Spend 15 seconds thinking about how this would work in practice, especially outside of a major city. It's the start of a new month in Bowsden, Northumberland, population 200. Three people must do 20hrs service this wek. What happens? Who organizes it? How? Where?

Clever man did not anticipate leopard eating his face. Clever man makes flippant comment about requiring clairvoyant abilities to determine if leopard would indeed eat his face at some future date. Clever man is clever. /s

CNBC: Do you regret voting for RFK Jr? BILL CASSIDY: If you want to tell me that somebody didn't tell me the truth, and I should've seen in the future they were not gonna tell the truth, you can say, 'Bill you should've seen into the future'

How long before one of them is admitted to hospital after a cheeky fiddle whilst wearing their new toys? This is chudkink.

ICE is getting "shock gloves" Because if ICE is physically putting their hands on you, that's not good enough. Apparently, they need to shock you, too. apnews.com/article/ice-...

For the love of gawd just read the fucking book and enjoy it. Save your AI synposes and analyses for work.

Brandon Friedman@brandonfriedman.bsky.social

Axios writer: I melted my brain with AI. Not only can I no longer read, but I don't even understand the purpose of reading anymore. Here's how you can also do this. www.axios.com/2026/08/11/r...

TackleSafe is mandatory for all RFU affiliated rugby coaches. It must be redone at rhe start of every season. The RFU are now charging for it. They are expecting people to pay to volunteer......utterly tone deaf.

I made dinner for my abuser a bunch of times. You have to play nice while you're planning your escape so you don't get dead. Max Miller is a textbook abuser.

My uncle is from Kerry, he spent 40 odd years working in the other Kingdom, Kuwait and Egypt in the oil industry. He couldn't be more Roman Catholic. He's retired a while now but inshallah and mashallah are still part of his vocab. They are lovely words.

Rafe Meager (they/them)@economeager.bsky.social

inshallah is like an entry level "cool white person appropriates your slang" word, if it scares you that's like being scared of a chipotle

Nobody who has spent any time at a village boulodrome is remotely surprised. Pétanque is serious business.

Bonhoeffer was an anti-Nazi Lutheran theologian, executed in 1945 by the Nazis. Brandon Gill, man of the people, is a Dartmouth grad with a history degree. Oopsie.

Rep. Brandon Gill: "We particularly need the left to tone down the rhetoric ... somebody is gonna listen and believe they are the next Dietrich Bonhoeffer and act on that and that's what we're seeing here."

This is the Belfast i know and love.

Reuters@reuters.com

After anti-immigration violence in Belfast left some residents too afraid to leave home, Ruchira Rangaprasad, a sales and marketing professional, took to social media to offer food.

Remember....the editor of the Spectator is vehemently opposed to the GFA/Belfast agreement. See his Centre for Policy Studies diatribe. The author of this piece defended the burning of migrant effigies on bonfires during last years marching season as "legitimate expressions of loyalist mood".

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

Andrew McQuillan (Spectator) notes "anti-immigration violence is an increasing feature of loyalism in recent years" but regrets "kumbaya politics" of Irish nationalists opposing violence. Hopes "the potential for genuine cross-community rioting cannot be discounted" spectator.com/article/why-...

Soft power is the biggest tool in any country's diplomatic arsenal. Yes, it is often massively bolstered if there's a big stick to potentially yield alongside. The below is neither carrot nor stick, it is a mafia-style shakedown. Never assume this shower have hit rock bottom, you'll be disappointed

Trump and Elon Musk destroyed most of the global H.I.V. program that saved hundreds of thousands of lives in Zambia. Now the US is threatening to cut remaining support, unless Zambia gives access to the country’s mineral resources. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/25/h...

Isn't the while point of relationships that one finds another soul that is compatible with oneself in a way that makes 1+1>2? For that neither party must sacrifice key aspects of themselves, especially core beliefs and ideals.

Andy Burnham Earnestness Enjoyer@jorisbinned.bsky.social

Sorry but it is genuinely creepy that this (engaged,36yearold) guy spends his time getting angry that Gen Z women are "intolerant" for not wanting to date someone who supports a sexually abusive, racist misogynist who is destroying the fucking world and making it more expensive to live as we speak

Pro-tip for the Swalwell campaign staff now maligning the women accusing their boss of sexual misconduct: it's not worth it. There will be other campaigns and other candidates but there will never be another time that you won't regret behaving this way towards survivors.

So the bold Maurice is saying Iran should return to a constitutional monarchy.......like they one they had until 1953 until Mosaddegh's government was overthrown and Pahlavi consolidated power. Maurice is a gowl and a blowhard. Don't be like Maurice.

If anyone is friends with any Georgian air traffic controllers, buy them a nice bottle of wine. As guardians of pretty much the only narrow gap still available between Europe and Asia that avoids both Iran, the Gulf, Ukraine and Russia, they are under some substantial pressure.

🚨 It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work. This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public. Please spread the word. 🧵 1/4
