Ended the 2026 #KidicalmassHFX season off with a successful Halloween themed ride today! Always a pleasure to see so many happy folks cycling together. (We had a furry friend cross the street mid-ride through the crowd this go around; wish I had gotten a pic of the kitty!)

They did some utility work at Columbus and Isleville, and ended up replacing the intersection a half inch higher than it was before…. Halifax’s first raised intersection is coming closer to reality!

What if instead of spending $726,000 for a bike route people would use we spend $451,000 on a bike route no one will use. We can waste $451,000 but make it seem like we're saving $275,000 because council wouldn't recognize good fiscal decision making if it ran them over in an unprotected bike lane.

He's locked and loaded

I recently bought a class 1 mid drive ebike and have started to do errands with it. Here are the speed profiles of the same errand route that involves a big hill, one by ebike the other acoustic bike. The average speed is 66% faster by ebike. The moving time was almost half. Amazing! #yycBike
