It's taken a minute for me to actually be able to process this, but my latest comic 11:11 has been nominated in three categories for the Selkie awards!! I am so chuffed and honoured for my comic to be shortlisted alongside such truly phenomenal works 💖😭 Congratulations to all the selkie nominees!!

So chuffed to be nominated for a Selkie award this year! Scotland is bursting with amazing comics, and it's so cool to be recognised among my friends and peers x

BEYOND humbled to be nominated in three categories for the 2026 Selkie Awards!! I'm delighted to be sitting in these lists alongside some of my great friends and their beautiful works. Congrats to everyone shortlisted!

Very thankful to see It Flows, be nominated for Best Comic and Best Art 🥳 BUT it's also great to see the incredible work that comes out of Scotland, each and every year. We'll keep doing it until everyone knows about it. Scotlaaaaaaaannnnnd!

I’m incredibly stoked and honoured to have made the shortlist in two categories of the amazing @selkieawards.org with Kid Eastwood the Movie! I worked super hard on it, so to see it recognised in this way is very exciting. Best of luck to everyone shortlisted, it’s all killer no filler!!

It feels so amazing to have @tomhumberstone.com & my poetry comic I KNOW THE WAY OUT nominated in three categories. But I’m going back through our collabs as prep for @comicartfestival.bsky.social and am reminded that we’ve been making them since 2011. Note to self: keep going, always keep going.

So honoured to have made the shortlist again this year, and twice at that!! Congrats to the fine folks I’m in the running alongside!

Super excited to have been nominated for a selkie award for best graphic novel!!

I Know The Way Out by me and @chrissywilliams.bsky.social has been nominated for THREE Selkie Awards! Best Short Comic, Best Art, and Best Narrative. Ridiculously chuffed. Congratulations to all the other nominees!

The Scottish comic scene is strong, but the people who put on indie-focused events are more often than not doing it for FREE!! After money and time, your voice is your powerful way to help your community. If you want the Selkies to flourish, be loud about it! Send Cara some words!

If anyone's got some nice things to say about how the Selkies have been going so far (that they'd be willing to go on the record for), I'd be very grateful! You can contact me here, or via email: cara.gaffney[at]selkieawards.org
