Dang, what an end of an era. Even though the studio isn’t what it what was (though I am the one Mass Effect Andromeda defender) they had such an incredible legacy of creating RPGs. I mean, I still feel like KOTOR holds up. Early ME and DA are wonderful, with nothing like it.

Annapurna is an independent but on the massive end, it should suprise zero people that they contracted out to several companies. I temped at a marketing firm once who literally did a single campaign for a Hunger Games movie and it took a lot of work for this tiny portion of the marketing.

Every single email I get forwarded with info about reviewing a game comes from some company doing the communications work for the dev. Which makes sense, since they have to handle getting a ton of outlets review keys.

Like they had to hire me as a temp because this was the people mailing in proof of purchase to get a movie ticket, when probably the vast majority of people redeemed it online. This is one tiny tiny part of the promotion.

Just saw Resident Evil and had a great time! Zach Creggar is three for three in making experiences that are essential theatrical viewing, seeing his movies with a crowd were fun! I also liked how a lot of it FELT like the games without being outward references.

if you begin feminist history at #MeToo then it's easy to despair that nothing has changed (or that some things have actually gotten worse). if you take a much longer view though things have changed so much! the little gestures we make today are adding up to something we can't see yet!

I think it’s easy to forget just how recent societal change is. Feminism has made massive strides but we still need and deserve more. We need intersectional feminism to uplift women of color, queer women, and trans women especially, feminism doesn’t work unless we uplift all women

Unfortunately sexual assault is endemic on college campuses. I’m lucky enough to have not experienced it but I remember people in my dorm describing their assaults at frat parties super casually, like oh this guy rubbed his dick on me, what are you gonna do 🤷‍♀️ and it pisses me off so much
