Which I suspect is the ultimate issue - people wish they didn't have to worry about their whole government, especially not in a great big country like the US - it's fucking hard to keep up with it all. But if I've learned anything in the last decade or so is you can't take your eyes off this shit.

We all focus on Prop. 40, and that's not an accident. Villain-aires are funding a huge "NO on 40" campaign. But if their sneaky Prop 41 & 42 scams get more votes than 40, 40 fails. Then, as our state's medical care crisis unfolds, out comes the "government bad - time to privatize" stage of fascism.

Remember when congress passed a law that mandated all of the government's Epstein Files be made public, and the government never complied? It's too bad congress didn't think to declare an actual consequence or penalty for breaking that law.

St Edward’s Church, Stow-on-the-Wold, with its Yew Tree guardians Tolkien was a regular visitor in the area, and the doors bear an uncanny resemblance to similar in Lord of the Rings, the Doors of Durin

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

we went to the cloisters today and they have a special exhibit on unusual representations of creatures in the medieval period and I *cannot* stop laughing at these central american ritual knives

It was early mid nineteen ninety-something. I was co-manager of Pacific Sunwear and ate Hot Dog On A Stick or Round Table Pizza for lunch at the food court.

The now famous explosion of the roof-tossing oil silo in Moscow, Russia, was probably caused by a Russian air defense missile. Absolutely hilarious.

Read too much news & wound up searching my camera roll for this very soothing pic from a rainy day at Descanso Gardens. If that is your jam please enjoy also.

There is something brutally psychically injurious to being constantly told "just do good work and you'll be successful" while watching people who do the most dogshit work possible do all the succeeding.

There are almost no crustaceans in the deep ocean. Not because they would get crushed, but because they would DISSOLVE. The cold & high pressure cause changes to water that make it very corrosive to calcium carbonate shells. But there's one crustacean who solves this problem with ALUMINUM ARMOR.

The political class are middle managers acting on behalf of the wealth and oligarchical classes because those classes have yet to figure out how to hold complete power openly without revolt and are using their stolen wealth to fund armies of ghouls to solve the problem out for them. Hope this helps.
