For ppl who aren't aware: Old temperate forests are insanely rare nowadays and extremely important ecosystems lost forever once cut. They're not just "old trees" but intricate networks of trees, fungi and all kinds of living creatures. You CANNOT replant this!! Once it's gone it's lost FOREVER!!!

just became aware of this--the regime wants to clear-cut massive chunks of Oregon's old growth forests in the name of timber production. you have until March 23rd to comment. i know we have endless fucking things to scream at politicians about--this is an important one too.

Ah yes the Choir Boy Scouts faithfully led by your local Catholic Priest

4. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the organization would be dropping all diversity initiatives, putting more emphasis on faith, and forcibly outing and segregating transgender scouts from their peers—forcing them to only be acknowledged by their assigned sex at birth.

I feel like we need to figure out how to communicate this to cis people. Not only does GAC transform our lives in incredibly positive ways, the fact that many of us did not get to start earlier fills us with grief, regret, and real loss. So much wasted life potential that we'll never get back.

It's worth noting that this was also a pretext to open up new services designed and run by people who push an unproven pseudoscientific "Gender Exploratory Therapy" model that has been likened to conversion therapy by international experts.

Andrew McRae@mcraeandrew.bsky.social

In a functional country, this would be a scandal. A service suffering only from chronic underfunding was ripped apart because the media created a myth of 1000s of complaints of malpractice. The truth - as in my family’s experience - was very different. www.thepinknews.com/2026/02/11/n...

Banning SNAP for hot meals would only make sense if you provided the homeless with housing. Yknow where they can actually store and cook food. Otherwise you’re just targeting the homeless.

its easily the least of The Problems but it does stand out how our elite institutions bill themselves as wise intellectuals asking the tough questions who must stand above the petty rabble, meanwhile their emails are all like "I. good time meeteing yuo" and "aktsuahly it,s efebopililia"

As someone raised by Orthodox Jews who are super majority Republican….lol no they are not. They like actively deny any connection between Republicans and Nazis/antisemitism. Every time I tell them about any of it they say it’s fake news or that I’m making them angry with lies or whatever

Eric Michael Garcia@ericmgarcia.bsky.social

For all the talk among Republican Jews about Zohran Mamdani and the Squad or other progressives, the rise of Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes and the rise of antisemitism on the right scares them shitless. wapo.st/4qrPqBD

I can try and tell them about how Desantis had a political ad with the black sun, Trump was quoting Mein Kampf, his dinner with Nick Fuentes and Kanye west, etc they don’t care. They agrees so much politically with Republicans that accepting they’re basically a Neo Nazi party would break their world

This is like the least surprising thing to happen to CBS. I mean they put Bari Weiss in charge. Her whole thing is being a right wing grifter. She fired like 8 women journalists half of whom were bipoc day one. Even if they bring it back i simply don’t consider CBS to be a reputable source anymore.

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Expect a "revolt" among 60 Minutes staff over Bari Weiss pulling the CECOT segment at the last minute, one network insider told me. Another CBS News reporter added that a Rubicon had been crossed with this decision, which 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi called "political" and not editorial.

It’s literally just antisemitism when people assume that Jews all support genocide Like that’s a messed up negative thing to assume a minority all believes in that’s the definition of bigotry.

This post is unavailable.

It doesn’t matter whether the person assuming it is say an anti Zionist harassing a random Jew assuming thy are Zionist or a Zionist trying to use mischaracterize anti Zionism either way it’s an anti semitic belief.

What’s interesting is that 40 percent still approve At the eod about 50 percent of the population understood how evil Trump was and supported him, 40 percent loved how evil he was and are happy with that, and there’s only a scant 10~ percent who vote based on vibes and are always surprised

G Elliott Morris@gelliottmorris.com

Our latest polling averages over at 50+1 show Trump hitting a new low in his job approval rating (39.4% among adults) and Dems meeting their previous high in the generic ballot (+4.4) fiftyplusone.news/latest-polls

Liberals always act as if swing voters are a set of perfect moderates who vote based on who has the most centrist policy But in reality its all vibes. Swing voters are just voting for which candidate they think has the vibes of a person who will change things for the better for them esp their wallet

Hochul is slightly more woke than Gavin Newsom Which is to say not at all

Eric Michael Garcia@ericmgarcia.bsky.social

I went to the DNC last year and Kathy Hochul got only golf claps when she spoke. Pelosi trashed her. But ever since she's gone Dark Kathy Wochul, her approval has spiked when you look at polling.

And Lindsey Graham

NY Times Pitchbot@nytpitchbot.bsky.social

Liberals are constantly projecting their insecurities onto everyone else. Under my direction, the Department of War is going to do something about that with Operation Straight and Sober. by Pete Hegseth

The Washington Post Editorial Board is literally praising Trump's pseudoscientific "review" which deadnames trans people and which was constructed by numerous hate group talking heads as being good science. God how far it has fallen. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

washingtonpost.comOpinion | What we still don’t know about pediatric medical transitionA controversial HHS report has now been updated with peer reviews and the names of its authors.

1) this is hugely unethical (hence why rcv are often not used). It would be unethical to do RCV on say vaccines for instance because you’d be harming the control group. RCV harms the trans kids denied puberty blockers….although they are already harming all trans kids in the uk so ethics already gone

s. baum@transvestigations.bsky.social

This AM, Ryan posted: "The long-awaited UK puberty blocker clinical trial protocol is out. It will be a randomized controlled trial comparing immediate vs delayed-by-one-year start of puberty blockers among 226 gender-incongruent youth." This was accompanied by what looks like a screenshot of a doc:

2)I don’t see how any significant data can be obtained, surely a single year given the variance in when puberty even takes effect or it’s speed would have like a wide margin of error and little overall distinction. I’m guessing that’s the idea-

They want to say oh look trans kids with puberty blockers delayed are basically the same as puberty blockers immediately so puberty blockers don’t do anything! Which is why we’re banning them because they don’t do anything /s Just shitty pseudoscience

This caught my eye. Adopting any far right policy, makes a party far right. That’s it. There’s a saying about if 11 ppl sit down for dinner with a Nazi, then there are 12 Nazis. This idea you can pick up far right policies & not be far right is such a denial of history & fact.

Literally so insane that the UK Supreme Court would say that the Equality Act don’t include trans people and required our exclusion when Goodwin was already litigated and was what required things like GRCs. Ntm the actual people who wrote it said it was meant to include trans people.

What is wrong with democrats why do they want to be such losers. Way too old.

Eric Michael Garcia@ericmgarcia.bsky.social

Janet Mills's campaign account just posted this video of her saying that she just announced her campaign against Susan Collins. #MESen. Mills, 77, is expected to jump in the race against Collins. She would face Graham Platner, Jordan Wood and Dan Kleban.

God she’s such a pick me it’s crazy

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Republicans just pushed a resolution to "honor the life and legacy" of anti-LGBTQ+ rights leader and extremist Charlie Kirk. Half of the Democrats voted in favor, including transgender representative Sarah McBride.

Basically what’s going on rn in the US. Trump is taking control of the Fed, the FCC, NLRB, and the DOE and weaponizing them to control every one of these. All with the Supreme Courts blessing and a stamp of approval from Republican Congress letting him take their power.
