Nintendo hate is a groupthink rooted in the east vs west culture wars after the JP economy boom after WW2. effective enough that people can't acknowledge their good qualities without saying that "they're not ALL good..." it's not "cool" to like Nintendo. what else is it "not cool" to like and why?

kinda glad the only existing switch 2 hack so far is vibeslop. anyone who's fully onboard with this "win" can be easily identified and, hopefully, viciously mocked.

lmao I didn't see this reply until now but it's too late, this one has followed the rest of the locusts

So you hunt down artist that makes harry potter fanart like people hunted down witches in 1600? Very fascist of you.🫵🙂‍↕️

See now we're fucking talking One of the only weapons we wield in this fight is our money and attendance, and if everyone involved with an event says "I'm not going unless you stop using AI" there's only two outcomes: *No AI or No Convention* Conventions are made by and for the community

the moral(s) of this story; - try not to engage with an active media franchise that's anti human-rights - if someone makes an uniformed mistake, inform first (as in, teach without accusations), then pick them back up - edgy 4chan raids are old shit, quit huffing your own gas

anyway now that the discourse has resolved, I think my favorite "anti censorship" white knight was the person who started whining at me about having an amoral opinion and called me "lil pup" about it. like when my friend in kindergarten told me "power rangers is for babies."

I love getting random likes on my replies to malfoy art defenders. it reminds me of when we had bird feeders up at my apartment. leaving little bits of stuff out and seeing little creatures grab a snack, knowing how much finding a snack means in this world of chaos. or maybe I'm overthinking it!!!!

this really is just the logical endpoint of the like decade plus of bad faith localization discourse where people would just pretend you can take idioms and wordplay from other languages and swap it to english wholesale

taking this image from VampyricMaid on twitter but idk how you can hang your hat on this and say its good quality

I think it's fun that we spend so much energy on the camaraderie of hating the current US administration only to find out that there are some wild stances hiding amongst us. when it happens, we're so used to having one, shared enemy, that we don't really know what to do about it! fun times

I also haven't seen a single screenshot or even quote besides her saying don't make mean comments to each other as a result of this, because she'd experienced them before. I don't take that to mean "I got death threats on bsky after my drawing." status: unproven

really just unfortunate all around imo. a network of quote posts and screenshots is an effective breeding ground for moral rabidity. while it's true that people underestimate the soft power of playful art trend engagement, that's not the time or place to be fighting with fire.

you can't handle a delicate person or a nuanced issue with hammers, but the extreme social conditions we face has left us with no other tools. we're very good at the "telling people what they did is wrong" part, but we need to follow through with the bravery of a held out hand.

4: in yunayu's "small talk" video, she mentioned "not making negative comments" to people because of this, because she'd received them before. I don't take that to mean she was getting "death threats" for This. also a lot of you fucks are BLATANTLY DISOBEYING HER REQUEST. great job!

things that suck: 1: the art trend itself. we have much better magical school media to draw from. or hell, draw Nagatoro casting spells, idk! 2: some of the fanfare her art is getting on Twitter is more because of the "victory" over bluesky. 3: no one knows how to Talk about this stuff (cont)

To most people age 40+, 81mg is known as "baby aspirin" because it was the pediatric dose up until the 80s, where its pediatric use was discontinued. everyone still calls it this. I *know* the only reason he's taking 325mg is because it's not "the baby one."

Trump: "I take an aspirin a day. I don't know if it works but psychologically I need it. It thins the hell out of your blood I guess ... They want me to go down to the 80. I take the 386. I don't know what the hell it is. It's a monster. They said, 'Sir, you don't need that!'"

I haven't finished it but personally I'm uhhhhh not really feeling the Castlevania demo. I'm sure it'll do fine as a video game for most people. maybe it had to be this way in the modern age. a video game about Castlevania. it just doesn't..... feel fun to play?

this depends heavily on the criticism, first of all. also, as a critic, don't expect everyone to share your criticisms of things, or feel them with the same weight. these are all opinions and no one is "correct." it's okay to be a lover or a hater!

tpwrtrdmn@tpwrtrmnky.bsky.social

If you're a fan of a big media property, a really dedicated and invested fan, you have to learn to respond to criticism of that thing in a calm and reasonable manner rather than as a personal attack. In fact, you should learn to do the criticism yourself, without feeling embarrassed for liking it.

for demonstrative purposes I would love to see the original post get co-opted by the "hire fans" gamer chuds who put makeup and lip filler on every female character

when I was 17 and uhh not going to school, and had no irl friends, my computer broke somehow but we had internet still so I used the Wii internet browser to get on forums and send messages

worked 46 hours this week. today is my day off and I'm needed yet again. at least money can buy video games...................... but you gotta have time to play em too

especially sucks to do it knowing it's a lazy ass pharmacist with awful taste in music. spoiled brat scurrying from rock to rock. oh well. MONEY BUYS VIDEO GAMES........

I was obsessed with this game when it came out and haven't replayed it since back then. hearing the title screen music in the trailer really woke something up in me. looking forward to seeing this world again.
