I also block: Accounts that only post politics; Accounts that only repost, no original content; Accounts with bot-vibe bios; Accounts only posting memes. I am not farming for followers, I only want to speak to human beings. Humans with a variety of interests and an actual life.

I need a good pollster to do the following questions: 1. Do you expect men in power will rape? Y/N 2. Is this: - acceptable - unacceptable but can be overlooked - unacceptable and needs to be addressed - I don’t know And then look at the numbers based on victim demographics (age, gender, race)

All the world over, police are the most essential element of capitalism, without which it would be impossible to preserve such intense disparities in wealth—and those who confront them in France are fighting for all of us. crimethinc.com/cops

crimethinc.comPolice: An EthnographyWe let police officers speak for themselves about what they are trying to do and why. And as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Amazon is running a sale on the first SIDEQUESTED! Twelve bucks gets you a fancy 300 page introduction to our book girl as she falls in love with the princess she rescues from a tower. www.amazon.com/SideQuested-... #GraphicNovel #YA #book #books #comics

Noticing that that whole thread is getting love from people I literally went to school with and/or have kids the same age as my kids, lol. We remember how shitty things were! Peppridge Farm remembers!

Medical treatments for SO MANY THINGS. Queer human rights worldwide. (Yes, we are fighting again now. But it's still better than it was.) The EPA. Mental health diagnostics and help. Social mores re smoking. Cleaner air!

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Also: Availability of foods from around the world on average supermarket shelves, and not in the "Ethnic" section. Social mores around some denigrating words. (I went to an elementary school with a "R[deleted] Class". The official name.)

Automotive safety standards!!!! Holy shit!! Car crashes are more survivable! (Not car v. pedestrian, though.) Casual misogyny is less accepted in mass culture. (Go watch a romcom from the 80s.)

No one enjoys accidentally deploying chemical munitions in the kitchen first thing in the morning. (Two quail eggs were EXTREMELY elderly and *exploded* when cracked, releasing clouds of sulpher dioxide.) (The entire house is open with fans going.)

Gosh, I really do enjoy the movie The 13th Warrior. A fanfic of The Travels of Ahmed ibn Fadlan and Beowulf, as written by Michael Crichton. (Literally. The movie is based on Crichton's book The Eaters of the Dead, which is based on those two works.

It is truly difficult to explain how strongly emotional and mental stress affect autoimmune conditions. My absolutely *twisted* immune system not only belives my trachea is a wound to be sealed shut, it thinks that stress is an allergen worth a five-alarm response.

Please vote, nobody knows wtf is going on anymore and the lies have the bit between their teeth.

Please don’t trust the polls, y’all. They have been inaccurate AF way too often. Vote like we are 3% down in every race and we need every single vote to pull out a win. Bc I fear that may be more accurate. Vote like your life + liberty depend on it. Come hell or high water, get to the ballot box.

I have just watched The Wolf Man (1941) for the first time. This is a jam-packed 70 minutes of amazing acting, a packed cast, great cinematography, and a much better story than I ever suspected. Highly recommend.

The wait times at the early voting locations in my vicinity are around an hour. Folks here are absofuckinglutely determined to tell our duly elected government not only what it should do but who should be doing it.

I really really want to have energy/function for Resistance organizing. I did over the winter & spring! But some family stuff has been going on for months. And it is not only taking my time and mental capacity, it is (due to my autoimmune bullshit) making me *physically ill* multiple days each week.

Funny thing, mental and emotional stress is still STRESS and my ridiculous body responds to conflict with my untreated mentally ill family member like I just ran a Zombie Run. Exhaustion. Pain. Brain fog. Allergic responses. Migraines. Digestive excitement. Throat grows scar tissue over my trachea.

Anyway. I feel terrible for dropping away from the local resistance groups. But, own oxygen mask first, etc. etc. When this whole family thing resolves, I will return to resistance organizing.

Ramsey County sheriff Bob Fletcher’s racist gang task force was broken up years ago. Now he’s getting it back together, leveraging Trump and Emmer’s anti-Somali screeds. The Star Tribune is helping him.

I listen and re-listen to the Andy Serkis audiobook of LoTR and The Hobbit many night in order to fall asleep. I let them play all night. When I half-rouse in the night they let me fall right back to sleep. The only very tiny complaint I have is that Serkis's Gollum screech will wake me up.
