Silver Huskey

Time for a proper #introduction! I'm a freelance writer who enjoys writing about video games 🎮 and animation🎞️. I'm best known for founding The Ice Cave, The Balto League, and Damage Control Blog in that order. I board the streaming struggle bus on Twitch once a week. Have some art of my fursona.

You may think I plan my Final Fantasy XIV articles out so that the titles work. I do not! I make them up as I go along and then come up with the titles after.

ICYMI I wrote about how video game demos could be in trouble thanks to people using generative AI to make bad clones, which goes doubly for those from smaller and indie developers, for a @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social post. www.dcgameblog.com/2026/10/cogn...

A new episode of THE SCARLET UPROAR is now on my Patreon for early access! 🦁 www.patreon.com/respeanut/po... #anthro #furry #artsky #indiecomic #webcomic #webtoons #digitalartist #webcomicartist #patreon #patreonartist

It will never cease to amaze me that putting out a successful product is never be enough to keep your job at many of these AAA game studios. These short term gains will eventually be paid for in the long run.

we've created a no AI notice to reassure people seeing our trailers and games with hand drawn lettering and a relaxing cute fox, and it's also up on itch in multiple formats* for anyone to use: eniko.itch.io/cute-fox-no-... *with/without fox, transparent/opaque, in 4k, 2160p, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p

I'm taking another break from posting on TWWR this week, I just don't have it in me. Between being out all day on Saturday, and having to run some errands on Sunday afternoon, I just haven't had time to write. Next Monday might be looking better since I'll be on vacation for the week.

ICYMI Last night's Short Adventure livestream announcement on @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social has been updated with the YouTube VOD. I made it out of the forest and into the next town, where I get suckered into doing a dungeon for the guild's receptionist. www.dcgameblog.com/2... #IndieGame

Sure, there have been a lot of layoffs lately, but sending a quarter of the workforce packing simultaneously is apocalyptic. kotaku.com/microsoft-gi...

Im in absolute shock right now. This man was THEEE modern voice of the Looney Tunes Look at the voice cast for Coyote vs Acme and he basically voices all the main male toons in that film. I'm so glad he got to see it be released... Rest in Peace

The stream is over! We made it to Raldin in Short Adventure and got into some trouble with our main antagonist. We'll be back on Saturday for our Halloween stream of Bram Stoker's Dracula on Genesis. We raided Sylverdreamer who's playing Hades II. Check him out: www.twitch.tv/sylverdreamer

Tonight I play Short Adventure. A cool indie RPG developed by a friend of mine. www.dcgameblog.com/l... Twitch: twitch.tv/damagecont... youtube.com/live/jLn... #TwitchAffiliate #Livestream

So many updates are waiting for me on Windows. This is what happens when you only boot into an OS once a week. It's a good thing I did delay tonight's livestream.

Sorry guys, I'm pushing tonight stream back. I'll be going live at 9:30 ET.

I'm streaming more Short Adventure for @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social tonight. Join me at 8 ET as I make way through the forest and reach the town of Raldin. Will there be whammies? Only time and this stream will tell. Come and hang out!

ICYMI I wrote about the high expected prices for the next-generation Xbox (and PlayStation) consoles, and how this will make PC gaming more enticing despite the slightly higher cost involved, for a @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social post. www.dcgameblog.com/2026/10/the-...

It's the first #FoxgirlFriday of October, let's get spooky! Better run away from this Yomiko! 🎨: kikury

interestingly this interest in black voters doesn’t extend to the republican effort to deprive them of federal representation, nor do they seem interested in asking whether republican candidates are burdened by the fact that trump talks like a klansman

pundits are basically bored by the idea that these democratic candidates are not meaningfully behind with black voters and so are trying to conjure a controversy into existence

The yearly trip to the state renaissance faire was great, as usual. Though not getting much sleep beforehand wasn't my best move. A lot of coffee was consumed. So much so, that when I got home I was physically exhausted, but still very much awake until about 3am.

As we approach the midterms, remember that the Alt National Park Service is a merch sales operation claiming without evidence to be a group of federal employees, and is not a genuine source of news about elections of any kind. Please get your election info from a local, reputable source.

Hey kids, if y'all wonder what living during the Obama presidency was like, THESE were the types of headlines we had every single fucking day. Nevermind reporting on anything of substance, the news needed to get their petty digs and remarkably stupid distractions in every day of the week.

One of the most insightful comments about game development came from a former boss. He said “Making a game is like starting a band. You can’t throw money at a new studio with random AAA veterans and expect it to crank out a hit.” 🧵

Backrooms was also a very good and very surreal film. If we’re doing the “Backsession” comparison (the weekend I wanted to replicate here), Obsession is certainly the better film, but both movies deserved the success.

Sick of twitch and want to help an alternative platform grow? We are currently building our coffers up to pay for business expenses, but the sooner we get that sorted the sooner we can expand our hardware fleet! If you would like to support us check out our support page! altstream.online/support

IGNORE EARLY VOTING RESULTS IGNORE THE POLLS We do not have this in the bag! We must ALL VOTE! Hungary ousted Viktor Orban by voting overwhelmingly. We must do the same to oust our own fascist leader, starting with these midterms.

Reskeet if you’re a weirdo furry socialist. Need to know who my tribe is.

ICYMI I wrote about the cancellation of the new Mass Effect game and Bioware's closure, and discussed how it would inevitably be the first project to go after the EA purchase, for a @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social post. www.dcgameblog.com/2026/10/cogn...

The fight against Abaddon in SMT: Digital Devil Saga 2 was a long one. This guy is no king, that's for sure. At least Cielo gets to tell him off. youtube.com/shorts/t... #VideoGames #RetroGaming #Megaten #DigitalDevilSaga2

I'm up and on the way the to the Renn Faire. I didn't sleep much, but I don't regret staying up to play Fortune's Weave.

I spent my Friday evening off from work playing Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Hit another major story point in Leda's path as the quest for revenge is slowly turning into a major conspiracy. I'd still be playing, but I have to put the game down and get ready for the trip to the Renn Faire in a few.

I also watched Obsession, which I'm happy to say was NOT overhyped by all the people who watched and rewatched it over the last few months. I'll make sure to watch Backrooms by the weekend's end.

I've only recently started my newest playthrough of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, this time through the Castlevania: Dominus Collection. I do like the enhancements this version has been giving, and occasionally playing it on the TV has made me see details I never noticed before. It's going to be fun.

I posted on @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social about the cancellation of the new Mass Effect game and Bioware's closure, and mused about how it was bound to be the first thing to go after EA was purchased. www.dcgameblog.com/2026/10/cogn...

Today is my birthday! If you would like to, I’d love some birthday wishes. :)

The weekend is here! What are your plans? We return to Short Adventure on Sunday. Offline we're watching Obsession and Backroom. We're playing Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Two of us are going to local Renaissance Faires. #Weekend #Gaming #TV #Movies

ICYMI The Quarantine Control series on @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social reached the 342nd entry. This week, @silverhuskey.bsky.social wrote about The Conjuring (2013), CWTyger linked to the Penguin Highway animated movie, and I wrote about Talk to Me (2022). www.dcgameblog.com/2026/10/quar...

ICYMI For last night's Quarantine Control on @damagecontrolblog.bsky.social I wrote about The Conjuring. @diosenrab.bsky.social discussed Talk to Me, and CWTyger shared Penguin Highway. Oops, all movies! www.dcgameblog.com/2... #Movies #Animation #Horror

I'm looking forward to this! Fingers crossed that a physical version for either Switch or Switch 2 (no GKC) will eventually arrive. I guess for PlayStation if they make that 2028 hard deadline.

literally this comic except he apparently lives in Czechia instead of Nebraska

There's a reason why AH doesn't do the usual industry stuff, even though we get offers to do so from time to time. I know we're limiting ourselves commercially, but I spent my first ten years doing that, and I'd really not want to be leashed like that ever again. It's just not a great feeling.

This is some genuine bullshit. SWers, trans folx, BIPOC people, and furries were the folks who made Bluesky such a great place to migrate to. The fact that the team just explicitly fucks them over at every opportunity, often in the most spiteful ways possible, is beyond fucking shameful.
