If you are not using AI now research in mathematics and computer science, then you are the same as someone not using a computer algebra system in the 1990s or 2000s, or someone not using a calculator in the 1970s or 1980s, or someone not using log tables in the first half of the twentieth century.

Complaining about nightlife when you *checks notes* choose to live in Soho is like living in South Kensington and complaining about the museums. Or moving to Hackney and grumbling about creatives. Living in Richmond and hating green space. It's all getting a bit silly, isn't it?

Jim O'Neill, Baron O'Neill of Gatley, the English economist best known for coining the term BRIC, has named Brexit as a 'colossal economic shock', and the reduce in productivity has been 'exaggerated by our rather odd decision to leave the EU.'

In a blatant act of provocation yesterday, Sadiq Khan allowed Christians to perform the Passion of Jesus in Trafalgar Square - a disgraceful show of dominance by a religion from the middle east.

With Nigel Smart’s recent #RSAC Math Award, he becomes the 4th COSIC member to receive this recognition over the years - joining Bart Preneel, Joan Daemen and Vincent Rijmen. Proud of COSIC’s long‑standing contributions to cryptography. 🔐 #COSIC #KULeuven #RSAC2026 #RSAC

Adi Shamir reading out the thank you I sent to the audience today at RSAC after the award of the RSA 2026 Conference Award for Excellence in Mathematics, which was jointly award to me and Yehuda Lindell. I could not be at the event today in San Francisco to receive the award in person alas.

I have a Reviewer 2 joke but apparently it represents only an incremental advance on previous jokes, and so has been rejected.

Nice blog by @matthewdgreen.bsky.social on anonymous credential systems

Matthew Green@matthewdgreen.bsky.social

I wrote a new post on anonymous credentials and how to build them. All of this is in service on a longer future post on how these will fit into age verification systems. blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2026/03/02/a...

About page limits. Why do CS conferences have them? If you look at the length of papers posted to eprint.iacr.org, 96% of them are at most 75 pages. Seems like we should just publish them instead of jumping through hoops to fit the old world of paper.
