I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too. https://www.tuffyinspringfield.com

It is pretty bullshit that the IRFU guts the clubs the week before (and usually the week after) the autumn internationals, tbh

Over the next couple of years, as the UK and EU inch closer to each other, there’s going to be a lot of “UK officials are talking about thing X” stories. So, for everyone’s sake, it would be helpful if people on this website could just be cool about it and not lose their minds every time.

The Anthropic IPO is a good reminder that you can basically do anything you want in the US, as long as you disclose it properly

They poured a ton of money into it

In February, after getting served with subpoenas in a federal criminal investigation, the billionaire sports mogul Mark Walter’s insurance companies abruptly stopped lending to him.

Look, in rural areas this is fair enough. But suggesting that pedestrians in urban areas need to wear high viz clothing is the most car brained thing imaginable

The Journal@thejournal.ie

Assistant Garda Commissioner Denis Ferry said "all pedestrians" including in urban areas should wear high visibility clothing. "I think you should do everything you can to ensure you're visible," he said. www.thejournal.ie/driving-phon...

I always assumed the Stark character from Captain America 1 was Tony Stark’s grandfather not after, which would make sense

It didn’t really work but McCreevy’s SSIA scheme was a pretty creative attempt to deal with inflation when you don’t control interest rates

Warned or threatened?

Mass cybersecurity disruptions, such as this week’s scramble by governments and companies to patch two critical software flaws, are about to “get a lot worse before they get better,” a top executive at Anthropic has warned

people are acting like this is about AI bots hacking into people's bank accounts but it's actually about people who have given their AI agents access to their computer on purpose

Sounds unrepentant and still describes FTX as "a run on the bank". Perhaps he shouldn't be given article space till he'll admit or learn why an exchange shouldn't suffer a run.

FTX was “a legitimate and successful business”, Sam Bankman-Fried told The Economist in an interview from prison in California. “Parties adverse to the company and stakeholders took control,” he said. “When I needed to fight that, I was weak instead”

I think the argument that tokenisation will help unkink EU cap markets is pretty weak but at least it’s an actual argument. Just shouting “digitisation” and pretending that everything is still physical share certificates is just dumb

Every Airbnb instruction list is like, "Hey, you dumb fuck. You wanted to stay in my shitty investment property? Asshole. Fine, I'll fucking let you, dipshit. The water heater is broken, by the way. Fix it or I'll charge you $200. And no laughing past 7 pm! We record everything."

Airbnb was a real T+2 phenomenon, for sure

It is kind of crazy how much I used airbnb in the early days and found great cheap places to stay, and often would meet nice locals with friendly info to share about their neighborhoods. And now the entire thing just... sucks? I don't even consider using it anymore. It's been years.

Another good reason to read the paper is that it contains this absolute banger
