Crying at this thread of trains + busses pics because YES trains + busses = 💗 BUT recent changes to the bus routes in SF make it far harder to connect to trains via bus (specifically, the 31 Balboa, which now terminates at Market St, and doesn’t go all the way to Caltrain/N/T anymore) 😭

THIS. Expressing the conviction that AI tools are going to be broadly useful to “everyone” or that “everyone is using them now” just tells me you don’t know or speak meaningfully to anyone outside of your workplace.

I would LOVE to see tech bros’ guesstimates of what shares of the population do different types of labor. Part of the infatuation with AI has to be that they can’t really imagine what most people do all day

I don't want a flying car. I want affordable healthcare, bridges maintained, roads fixed, teachers given a massive pay raise, free books for kids, housing for ALL, equitable taxes, stop poisoning our food with crap we don't need, state colleges to be free again. I want a country for all of us.

If these cats I’m sitting—one of whom I have already sat for!—do not come out from under the bed they should know I’m ready to bring out the big guns and MAKE THEM LOVE ME

Me in the streets at the next protest: What do we want? Crowd: Clothes with pockets! Cars with knobs! Me: When do we want it? Crowd: We have always wanted it!

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

ISTG if ONE MORE person tells me to “just ask ChatGPT” I’m going to become the lady on the street who is yelling angrily and incoherently at everything

how did this happen? well we forgot to tell them not to do that

I have prepped for a colonoscopy three times already so I am VERY much aware that there’s a limit to how much and how fast any one person can shit stuff out, especially if you don’t care about quality

The amount of Amazon workers relying on SNAP and Medicaid has nearly tripled since 2020. — while Amazon’s annual profits soared by over 550%. It’s the same story everywhere: corporate profits are at record highs, while workers’ share of the economy is at a record low. We must unrig the system.

It was bad in 2022, when medical issues exacerbated by the hostility at work made me leave. It’s worse all the time. Show up for your local libraries. Get involved with the boards. Shout down the bigots. Demand protection for the freedom to read and for librarians doing their jobs.

Seriously, if you’ve ever wondered about what happens, or whether you should bother getting one if you don’t have a family history, or have any questions about the process at all, hit me up. Colonoscopies save lives, people!

Not only do digital things not last forever, digital objects are even more fragile than physical ones! You can put a piece of paper on a shelf for a century, but you probably can't read a Unity project from 10 years ago
