I’ve learned to do the same with pain and sorrow. They never go away but their form can change. I take those experiences and they become the materials for creation, still there but something new at the same time.

There is a lot of pain in the world and it’s going to take time and community for its form to change. But one thing we can do is recognize what is happening. Recognition can lead to a foundation of change once action is taken.

People keep tagging me in a new dress by the company Fanciful doll because it has beetles on it and I love a good twirly dress with puff sleeves. But the beetle print is AI so it’s a hard no from me. The beetles have 10 legs which really irritates my autism and love for accuracy.

When I purchased something, I want my money to support a company that cares about their ethics. When you use AI, it tells me you don’t care about ethics. You’re ok with stealing from other artists, taking shortcuts for profit and the impact your company is having on the environment isn’t a concern.

I hate endometriosis. At this point I have had multiple surgeries, I’ve been on almost every kind of birth control, medically induced menopause and diets to help with inflammation. It all does NOTHING.

I have spent the entire day today stuck in bed with a heat pad, rotating ibuprofen and Tylenol still throwing up, passing out, barely able to walk because the pain is so bad. I don’t know what to do at this point.

Night eyes 😎 Finally got proper pictures of this amazing phenomenon! Mantises change their eye color (and light sensitivity) at night by transporting pigments from the surface of each compound eye unit toward the deeper eye region. Same female Tenodera sinensis, two different times. #bugsky

The Fae: so we’re going to take you away from here and— Me: I accept! The Fae: and you won’t remember anything and you will not return for a century— Me: I ACCEPT HARDER

I asked a friend if they wanted to help brainstorm title ideas for my paintings. They stated they just use chatGPT to come up with their titles. They were quite sheepish admitting this because they know my thoughts on the subject.

I then spent over an hour with my nieces and nephews brainstorming title ideas for my art and theirs. The hour was full of delighted giggles, snacks and art and science questions answered. That hour didn’t just result with our art having titles. It gave us human connection.

If you want to build community, don’t use gen AI. Instead of asking ChatGPT ask your librarian, friend, neighbor or your long distant cousin twice removed. Put your human noggin together and create! Human connection can be more inconvenient and time-consuming but you end up with so much more.

I didn’t asked them because I just wanted to have title ideas given to me. I asked them as a form of human connection. I wanted to spend time with a friend. I wanted to experience the creative process with another human and build community. They missed out on that.
