A beautiful place.

This is truly great news – I've been to this corner of Arizona twice, and it's stunning. The first time I went, I stayed the night in a small cabin in a canyon and woke up surrounded by deer, skunk, hummingbirds, and other wildlife. I felt like a Disney princess.

Big election coming up - great to be on Energy Central to discuss!

Climate Cabinet Action@climatecabinet.org

We're just a few short weeks away from Election Night, when we have the biggest opportunity for climate since the Inflation Reduction Act passed. Our @spears.bsky.social joined the Energy Central team to walk through what's at stake, what to watch, and what we're hearing from candidates.

Most of our clean energy & climate candidates are up in the polls for November's election.

i challenge you to post one optimistic take or belief today on bluesky this needn’t be toxic positivity, just good ol’ run of the mill optimism/hope in the face of a torrential downpour of doom

Quotes: "Recent advances in renewables truly are revolutionary"* "We are going to end the housing crisis and leave our cities better and more vibrant than ever" *I would add batteries to this also

-Recent advances in renewables truly are revolutionary and will decouple economic growth from climate change -We are going to end the housing crisis and leave our cities better and more vibrant than ever. -Trump fumbled trying to build a dictatorship and is headed for a massive electoral rebuke.

New research! Solving the U.S. housing shortage can be a force multiplier for gigaton-scale emissions cuts and an affordable, resilient future. Thrilled to be a co-author on this new white paper from the newly launched Housing Multiplier Project. housingmultiplier.org/wp-content/u...

This AM, another attack on clean transportation standards from the WH. Here are 3 ways states can step up: ⏩ Build more houses close to stuff people like. ⏩ Support electric trucks/cars. ⏩ New permanent revenue structures for zero-carbon transit. Illinois did this last year, PA and CA are next.

In other words: potentially 20 points (!!!) of ticket splitting between the Governor and Senate races in Pennsylvania.

Folks at @statenavigate.org see some razor-thin races to decide the fate of the Pennsylvania Senate: PA SD-16 (Bucks/Lehigh) 🔵 Mark Pinsley - 47% 🔴 Jarrett Coleman - 46% PA SD-24 (Berks/Montgomery) 🔵 Chris Thomas - 46% 🔴 Tracy Pennycuick - 44% Gov. Shapiro leads by 20 in both districts.

People debate what a wave means in terms of federal elections, understandably, but the consequences for local office and local power would be huge as well. Tarrant County (you’ve all seen that poll?) has extremely important races for DA, county judge, and county commissioner.

Excited for this! See you in NYC

This is the conversation we’re bringing to #NYCW. Urban policy is climate policy. How can we align housing, affordability, electrification + resilience (and deal honestly with the places where those goals can collide). Join @mateosfo.bsky.social @spears.bsky.social, me, and others ⚡🚲🚆🏠

Scoop for @heatmap.news: The Texas Public Policy Foundation disclosed what conservatives may want to do amidst the data center and transmission backlash — pass legislation to penalize solar and wind so fossil energy supplies more energy to the AI hyperscaler boom.

Looks like a similar result in Wisconsin - D/R turnout ratio is around 2-to-1 again. The lack of competitive top of ticket race is depressing numbers a bit on the R side - but still, that’s low

It’s another election night! Here’s the #1 thing I’m watching for tonight: Turnout gaps between the parties in WI and MN. We saw an enormous gap in Michigan. 1.5 million voted in the Democratic primary, compared to 0.9 million voting in the Republican primary. National trend or no?

Wayne County Transit Passes: a🧵, 1/8 The Wayne County countywide transit millage passed yesterday, which means that for the first time since April 24, 1995, SMART's service area now covers every square inch of the tri-county area (Oakland went countywide in 2022, Macomb has always been countywide).
