#Reading: #EmilyWilde'sEncyclopediaofFaeries by #HeatherFawcett. First in a series. Entertaining read, liked the style which emulates academic writing. Set in an alternate history Scandinavia, which was fun after just reading a history of the vikings.

It's an absolutely lovely day with sun and a slightly stronger breeze, and we went to a plant flea market in the botanical garden of our university - only for me to get a reminder why I usually don't do that well with spring: allergies! What a fun combination with anxiety.

That happened over a longer time, and there were various parts to it. As a kid - I think 8,9? - I had a phase where I lived as a boy, as far as that was possible (we're talking 40 years ago here) - I had short hair, I never wore feminine coded clothing, I socialized w/ the boys, etc. That ended >

badly, for various reasons, and I went back to trying for something more traditionally feminine, which didn't work great for me. It took me decades to find a mode I feel comfortable with, & while I would call that "female", & consider myself cis, I think that time where I tried out if I was a boy>

was good for me, helpful in figuring out who I am. And I wouldn't want to deny that to others, no matter how it ultimately turns out for them. I think in restricting what gender people are allowed to be, & basing it on a very limited & unscientific idea of biological sex, we do incredible damage.

As with most Gen-Xers, I thought I would be experiencing quicksand far more often than I do, and at the same time I am relieved that I don't have to deal with quicksand because I am absolutely sure it would defeat me instantly. I do know which forks to use though. You go from the outside in.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last tv show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you? I mean, when someone's kidnapped on her show, it's usually to fake their death/extort money, so I guess she's ruining that for me.

Over the last few weeks, there have been a bunch of complete strangers following me here. I guess it is possible that some of these accounts are just very gregarious people, but if we've never interacted, the chance that I'm blocking such a follow is 110%, bc I'll think you're a bot. Just FYI.

To kill a Sith Lord, you only need a glass of water. (The guy was monologuing at our (rather low level) Jedi while handling a pretty dangerous artifact. I levitated a glass of water at him, our GM rolled abysmally on letting him keep his balance, he dropped the artifact and its powers killed him.)
