I built an alternative to all the big players that can run fully local, where people own their data. I get hate. I picked OpenAI because they gave me better answers about encryption, responsibility and safety concerns for what I want to build next. I get hate.
Reading some of the takes about Peter here and on X feels less like criticism and more like people shadowboxing their own hatred towards AI. Maybe good to remember that Peter is a real person and one that I know quite well. The criticism thrown his direction from some people is heavily misplaced.

clawdbot has a notion skill for that the cool thing about clawdbot: you just chat with him :D .. „how can I give you access to to Notion?“ .. he responds with a detailed guide with links to the Notion pages where you create an App token and specify which pages / databases he can access its awesome

Whenever I read discourse on AI energy/water use that focuses on the "median query," I can't help but feel misled. Coding agents like Claude Code send hundreds of longer-than-median queries every session, and I run dozens of sessions a day. On my blog: www.simonpcouch.com/blog/2026-01...

Awesome Claude Code Anonymous meetup. Multiple short talks on how people are using AI (not just Claude Code) to build things from the likes of @steipete.me, @orta.io, @nearestnabors.com and others. Many thanks to Orta, Peter and @edsaperia.bsky.social of Newspeak House for making it happen!
High Praise, thanks Federico! It's been years since I had so much fun building something. Defo feels like living in the future.
An open-source AI agent running on my Mac mini is the most fun I've had with AI in a while. Clawdbot by @steipete.me is an AI assistant that you can infinitely tweak. Runs in any messaging app, has access to skills + shell, and it can improve itself. My story: www.macstories.net/stories/claw...

This seems like a good event. I only decided to try AI coding because of @steipete.me‘s posts here. Not ready to give Claude code terminal access and rather contain bots to a browser sandbox, but I know @orta.io‘s former colleagues are using it to eliminate huge amounts of tech debt.
Ended up talking with our event space host for Claude Code Anonymous and I've raised our event space limit, accepted everyone on the guest list, and there's 10 more spaces opened lu.ma/u5rompg9

I've been putting in a lot of hours into working on and with LLM-based coding assistant tooling, and can say that for me, this has vastly increased my productivity, while code quality and maintainability have at least stayed the same. Sample of one, ymmv. Hence why studies are important.

I was summoned so I shall spam my blog. My general approach and view of LLM-assisted coding is here: mariozechner.at/posts/2025-0... Just telling them "Do my jerb" does definitely not work if you care for functioning, maintainable software. But they sure can help with tedious bits
