I made* a site with Portland City Council voting statistics — who votes with whom, most common vote breakdowns, who’s in the majority most often: pdxcouncilstats.com
I'm running for East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District, At Large 2 seat. This is an oft-overlooked and important body. Please spread the word using our website's Word of Mouth Kit created by incredible volunteer power! Thank you. Vote by November 3! #orpol #vote2026 stephfororegon.com
Chanda Evans' letter to the editor about Participatory Budgeting is spot on. Vote yes on Measure 26-267. www.oregonlive.com/opinion/2026...
Looking to spice up your Saturday night/weekend? Apply to join the Portland Planning Commission! The deadline is this Mon. 9/21 (extended 1 wk). I have the honor of serving as your current chair with 8 phenomenal colleagues. Take my seat, please & thank you. :) www.portland.gov/bps/planning...
I worked summers through college at a cannery on Bristol Bay. Fishingfolk by and large understand the relationship between environmental protections and long term economic sustainability. Big corporations couldn't care less.
#Alaska Corporate consolidation is forcing Alaskan fishermen out while big companies buy up access. Mary Peltola is running for Senate & fighting to protect your fishing rights & keep Bristol Bay safe from industrial mining. The fisheries belong to Alaskans who work them. #ResustanceUnited #Pinks

Journalism lives! The Mercury included a history of the police’s actions in 2020, adding necessary context to the frankly popular anti-police sentiment that arose and still reverberates. I shouldn’t feel relieved to see a paper not just parroting conservative talking points, but it’s uncommon now.
EDITORIAL OPINION: In 2020, Portland protesters exercising their First Amendment rights faced rubber bullets, batons, and tear gas from the Portland Police Bureau.
WashCounty Chair Harrington flipped off Commissioner @nafisafai.bsky.social in a public meeting earlier today. We need to talk about both the action, the coverage (YIKES to both), and the election this November. Let's get into it (1/3)
Instead of focusing on Fai's experience & professionalism — including that NONE of her colleagues stood up for her in the moment —The Oregonian chose to spend its word count excoriating Harrington and praising Treece's public statement after the fact. (2/3) www.oregonlive.com/washingtonco...
Nafisa Fai is running for WashCo Chair. Wouldn't it be delicious for Fai to be elected to succeed the person who just flipped her off? If you love community leaders stepping up to serve and/or a healthy dose of schadenfreude, this is your link. DONATE TODAY. (3/3) www.nafisaforwashingtoncounty.com

My one annual 9/11 tradition as someone who lived in NYC then (and voted, before they shut down the polls that day) is to watch former Rep. Barbara Lee's floor speech. A profile in moral courage. www.washingtonpost.com/video/politi...
Did you know that Sept. 11, 2001 was NY's primary election? On this day 25 yrs ago, I had just voted in Brooklyn and was preparing to start my poll watching shift. Plans changed. One of the lesser-told stories was the NY Board of Elections response: electionline.org/electionline... #democracy #vote

Grateful to @councilortkl.bsky.social and @councilorgreen.bsky.social for co-sponsoring a resolution to urge the City Administrator to refrain from signing data center NDAs. Transparency is critical. Sorry not to have had time to testify but following here: www.portland.gov/council/agen...

Bill McKibben, a writer and climate activist I've been inspired by for decades, wrote a post about transitioning to bicycles as a powerful climate action. I am honored he used one of my watercolors to frame his post. ps: Find my work as postcards AND A4, greeting cards, originals Ask cathytuttle.nl
After her cataract surgeries last month, my Mom couldn't read or watch TV, so I made sure @multcolib.bsky.social Libby was set up on her phone with a few audiobooks in queue. She just asked me if we could listen to "Caste" during our upcoming road trip. My work here is done.

First case is West Virginia v. PBA. "Coach" Kavanaugh --who famously touts that he coaches girls basketball even though he's been accused of attempted rape-- writes WVA is allowed to exclude trans girls from sports.

Since it's popping up again: Here's our 2024 coverage of the lease agreement between the city & Blazers that *requires* the Blazers to keep playing in Portland until 2030.
Team, it was a good ending. Volunteering at a challenging intersection at East #Portland #SundayParkways, and one guy in a souped up truck (with dangling balls, you know?) blew past. An hour later, he came back through, stopped, and APOLOGIZED for his behavior earlier. A lovely chat, then The Nod. 🙌

Feeling deep gratitude for Oregon's election workers, who ensure votes are counted and results can be trusted. We still have work to do! Democracy is messy and flawed and foundational to freedom. Thanks, team. Voting in Oregon, indeed, feels good. @oregonelections.bsky.social #vote2026 #democracy

WHOA, y'all. Latest Washington County election results ahoy. Tammy Carpenter (HD 27) and Myrna Muñoz (SD 15) both increasing leads. Nafisa Fai now with a 5 point lead for WashCo Chair. Evelyn Kocher & Rachel Philip likely to go to a runoff for Beaverton City Council. Screenshots in thread. #orpol

According to my calculations, Ashley needs over 90% of the remaining votes to pull even with Tammy. Janeen needs more votes than are outstanding. Both of these races are callable. Congrats to @portlanddsa.bsky.social , @oregontammy.bsky.social , and @myrnafororegon.bsky.social !
big gains for muñoz and carpenter in the latest washington county ballot drop
Rachel Philip's lead dips below 50% for Beaverton City Council. If this trend continues, it will mean Evelyn Kocher (@evelynforbeaverton.bsky.social) and Rachel Philip will go to a run-off.
Tammy Carpenter @oregontammy.bsky.social with almost 5% lead now in HD 27.
Bonus election results update from Washington County as of 8 a.m. this morning! @nafisafai.bsky.social made more gains. Miles Palacios maintaining his lead for Metro Council D4, Kipperlyn Sinclair making gains for Washington County Commission D4 (Hofler on her heels). #orpol #washingtoncounty
And Myrna Muñoz AHEAD by 150 votes from the most recent election data results!!! YESSSSSS!!!!! #datacenters #orpol #vote2026 @owfp.bsky.social
