Alligators, bison, the California condor, whales, wolves, panthers, and other species have been brought back from the brink of extinction. When I was a child, they were all expected to be gone in a few years. Urban air pollution is mostly gone compared to the '60s-'70s. Banned public smoking!

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

They keep using that word, "art." I don't think that means what they think that means.

NEW: Epic Games has delayed its upcoming (not yet announced) Star Wars + Marvel shooter as it pivots to complete AI game development. "No more hand-written code," a director told staff. All art "generated with full AI workflows." Full scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

This is the most remarkable story Ray Bradbury ever shared with me. He told it to me late one night, sitting in his den of antiquities and mementos. Take five minutes to read this. It’s pure magic. #Writing #Living #Creativity #RayBradbury #BookSky

This 33-year-old nurse told the FBI she knew she was “going to set him free” after border patrol agents brought in a man whose face was bloodied and seriously injured. She treated him and helped him escape, and she faces charges now. He got away, and they never relocated him.

Pete is lost in terms of modern war. I use the example of this outgunned Ukrainian army officer who successfully terrorized a Russian unit for weeks because she "did the math." At the time, someone commented, "yeah, in combat, 'I did the math' beats 'I can do 100 pushups' every time."

"Sven, where did you put that roll of heather root?" "In a VERY SAFE PLACE." "You lost it, didn't you."

An amazing glimpse into Mesolithic everyday life: this more than 7,500-year-old ring was made from heather roots, carefully rolled up and prepared for later use. It was discovered at the settlement of Motala/Sweden, where the same material was used for fish traps. Dating 5750–5550 BC. 🧵1/2 📷me

Linda McMahon: "AI is definitely a tool used correctly. I've seen it in action. I have visited the Alpha School in Austin, Texas, where they use AI for the first two hours every single morning. The students have their headsets on, they are watching their computers ... it is incredibly effective"
