Ruby bundler is in the pipe next. This weekend I'll comb through everything before releasing 0.4.0 to offer support for both. Looking forward to having my e2e test ecosystem and general testing harness ready to the same degree to where I can add storage backends similarly easily.

Maturing as a software engineer doesn’t mean writing fewer Horrors, it means knowing when to write A Horror and how to construct the proper containment zone around it

I once inherited a python system that handled about $100m in ARR. It was a single Django class that was 25k lines long and had zero tests or docs that always called out to MySQL and postgres via fork+exec rather than actually using those client libraries

Yeah I think this will work to bootstrap the rubygems support too. I think those 4 are my main targets for the immediate future. After that it becomes mostly a question of whether I want to add alternate backend support systems for different storage besides CodeArtifact.

Seriously though contracct testing might be a really nice little treat in the agentic era. Clear validation guidelines for a model to pursue. Not always a valid choice, since you don't always need `n` of something though. Anyway I'm rambling I shut up naow

If it works I recon it would for me be a big validation of the project structure and core architecture. The model has a clear e2e test suite it already needs to validate in a contract-testing style pattern, and the package ecosystem is just a bolt-on concept

sorry I forgot we had dinner plans tonight. you see, my calendar is a self hosted PHP app and

Love to have Astra flag something and halt the overnight work because... I need to update my library to a version that fixes a security issue and explaining that was blocked by the guard rails. I really need to get my fucking accounts added to Blue team type policies but it doesn't recognize ramq

some guy on a super old php version must be feeling pretty smug right about now

Make that 0.3.2, with telemetry volume improvements, and better respect for upstream registries (npm etc). Next goals are: 1. More performance grinding for whatever margin we can still squeeze out. 2. Building support for external redis cacheing of package metadata so we don't violate rate limites

Anyway it's ready for initial experimental use and shakedown. If I get some time I'll bring it up at work in our experimental cluster configuration to see how it behaves under non-synthetic load. Enjoy. That frog's lunch money is mine. ecluse-proxy.com
