Lynn Vavreck | In 1986, just 11% of Americans said the [American] dream was “not really alive.” In 2026, the number who think the American dream is not alive jumped to 43% — almost half the country thinks it’s dead. Trump killed the American Dream. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

So people who buy huge cars and trucks are selfish assholes.
Like public health, transportation is an inherently collective endeavor. "Your decision [whether to get a vaccine] is going to affect everybody else. It's the same thing with transportation. If you choose to get a big car, you're affecting the well being of everybnody else on the street."
The term is 'relationslipping', when teammates would rather get bad advice from AI than talk to human teammates.
#econsky Is #AIAdoption Making #Teamwork Worse? BetterUp/Stanford surveyed 1,000+ US workers: asking AI instead of colleagues can weaken trust. Separately, 40% got AI workslop; each took nearly 2h to fix. My take: if one employee saves time but the team pays to fix it, what did AI save?

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says we need to “accept some bad things happening” in exchange for the benefits of AI. Hello? No we do not. In fact, we can rein in AI before it’s too late. Watch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_sCRveGK50

Categorically wrong. Blanche takes an oath which says he is to serve the U.S. Constitution, not Trump: U.S. AGs under 5 U.S. Code § 3331, requires appointees to swear or affirm support and defend the U.S. Constitution, bear true faith and allegiance to it, and faithfully discharge their duties.
Attorney General Todd Blanche says there's a "misperception that there's this separation and independence between the Department of Justice and the White House." "I work for President Trump."

Word of the Day: Dummymander May it blow up in their faces. “Dummymander” is a play on the term “gerrymander,” and it refers to a redrawing of a district map that actually ends up benefiting the opposite party that was designed to help. www.stoweboyd.io/p/word-of-th...

Everyone should stop comparing Republicans to Nazis as soon as Republicans stop acting like Nazis.
"Jon Ossoff, my advice to him is, if you start calling your political opponents Nazis, maybe it's time to shut up. That's just not what we do here in this country." -- David Brooks, this evening. Remember, Brooks still gets very handsomely rewarded by the fossilized media for saying shit like this

Yeah, thank you … Putin … for helping to save Trump from the oil shortage he caused by attacking Iran. Oh and here’s some money for Russia to help them kill Ukrainians? Great. Weakened America, weakened Ukraine, helped Russia, has no values. Fuck everything. Two more years.
Trump: "I think you heard about the oil deal with Russia. That is a big deal. That is massive amounts of oil coming into our country, and I want to thank President Putin to be honest with you."

Fox News really giving Trump the middle finger here with this graphic (remember, the only reason Ken Paxton is the GOP nominee is Trump ordered GOP voters to choose him instead of Cornyn)
New Fox poll of Texas has Talarico +7 with registered voters and +2 with likely voters. This is striking: *He's winning half of working class *In mid-60s w/Latinos *Winning 22% of non-MAGA Rs (!) The kicker: Non-MAGA Rs *disapprove* of Trump New piece from me: newrepublic.com/article/2161...
