I forgot to mention: I've got the professor job! I've been filing last bits of paperwork, medical etc. for the past 2 weeks. I should start on the first week of November!

Nothing to show this week game wise. I'm finalizing some code to switch the game into various states (Menu, Intro, Game etc.), and slowly moving to alpha stages. And yes: I will make it available on itch.io and Steam: Yes. But don't expect any profit from it, this is a labour of love.

I'm trying to find some postcards I can do GFX on for the annual #demoscenecardexchange and the only places that have them are fucking Amazon and polish equivalent of thereof. Not the post offices... What the actual fuck? Either way, have plans to make at least 15 of them. A piece of Suule 4 you.

I need to figure out a good localization system. I have bad experiences with Unicode. Plus I don't think I can do well localizing Void Survivors for Japanese/Chinese/Korean writing systems, due to 6x8 and 6x6 Fonts being the norm. I might sacrifice some of the audience for retaining Amiga aesthetic.

Character select screen for the game. Excuse the incomplete portraits. I'm still figuring out a good way to store swappable characters.

Richard B. Gray - LEVELORD 11/15/1957 - 10/12/2026 Just heard the news that an old friend of mine has passed on. Richard Gray - aka Levelord has departed the planet. I know he's dealt with cancer on and off for awhile now, a word that I cannot stand. Word comes from his wife Olga.

So I've tried Rockbeasts demo today and... it's like part visual novel part "Rockstar Ate My Hamster" with some rhythm game segments. But there was something about it that made me look twice just based on one scene.. ...and indeed. Polish hands made this. And shit, Iggy Pop is still alive??!!

Police has taken my statement, assessed the damage. Now we're looking into getting the insurance to replace the broken glass. The officer that was taking my statement was even nice enough to drive me home so he can do policework there quickly. He was very fascinated about my line of work too.

Someone shot our balcony door with a BB gun. We're living on top floor and the balcony has a large slab that's covering the balcony door up to about 1/3 of it. Meaning that the only meaningful way to get shot at was from the building opposite of us, from the same floor. What the fuck?

The worst thing about this hiring process is the waiting times. Like any good government institution it takes ages to move the process forward. But as far as I've heard from the Uni, the commission has approved me, now we need the department to approve the recommendation.

"Okay, I think I have object drawing code done.... now to te.." "What about this specific case when creature is moving into a tile from left or right... with gradual movement it will fuck up the entire algorithm" "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKK" Fuck you too brain for noticing that.

Dithered the wall textures and started redoing the floors. Plus implemented first bit of timers that controls some of the UI elements. SDL_Add_Timer proved not to be as annoying to implement as I initially thought. I'm so glad I can just do this instead of playing around with internal CPU timers.

Could have named 9 more. But I think overall these are some of my picks that I still replay every now and then. Notable mention that didn't make the list would be Fallout 2 of course, despite a lot of its flaws.

Most of my game dev right now is sitting with a pen and pencil and designing a data structure that I won't have to rewrite in 2 weeks... That being said - you want to help this coming into reality, always a good idea to toss me a few bucks.

the foxtail grass was really pretty last week with the dwindling queen anne's lace and canadian goldenrod... also felt like drawing good ol Kevin

Junai uniforms have a funny genealogy... If anyone thinks they're based in any manner on LoGH, Gundam or some other media... Nope! They're very much inspired by Atredies uniform from David Lynch's Dune! Now that's a detail you will never unsee.

One thing I'm really looking forward to is going back to making comics. I had a blast doing Stellar Diaries, but financial woes forced me to stop. When I show people the pages I've done so far, not only they admire the craftsmanship, but they always want to see more and it makes me happy.

And the gal's connections. I thought I've lost the image but nah it was buried in my 'rejected' folder. I think Jessica Lang might have proved a bit too spicy for some, but I think for someone who was based on KMDFM's Megalomaniac... yeah I think she's a solid design still. So fuck all the haters.

A gal with a mean dominating streak, obsessed with industrial music that I've designed for a TA campaign. Sadly I had to leave that campaign. Oh well.

Holly and Aiden are twin siblings created by Juska(x.com/Justkindofhere), and it seems their personalities and relationship share many similarities with Chick and Hack. IIt was so much fun to draw twins like that again—cheerful, full of energy, and so close.🤩 元気な双子をまた描けたのは、私にとっても楽しいご依頼でした🤩

I'm so HYPED. The first game is a fairy-tale come alive! I'm so excited for the sequel.

Little fun notes about the last animation: * Took me about 40-50h * No rotoscoping was used, I just stood in front of the mirror and copied the movement. * No 3D tools either for the corridor scene * The GIF for it could be fit on one DD IBM PC Disk (it's ~650k) * It's aspect correct (16:10->4:3)

Had the interview for the professor position today. I got asked what controllers I've coded for. After listing them I started talking about assembler sizecoding... ...I don't think the interviewer expected that.

Since I forgot to mention it: Had a blast at Xenium this year. I've spent more time drinking, socializing and hanging around than coding this year. Oh and the demoscene art panel we had was wonderful, I'll try to talk with the orgas to make English subtitles for it so others can watch it.
