I don’t get very excited by ladybirds, all a little too similar. But this one caught me eye scuttling up the kitchen window as a bit too big for the ‘usual’ black ones. Rhyzobius forestieri, an Australian species first recorded in UK in 2014, and first record for me today! #Coleoptera #Coccinellidae

I bought this on Saturday whilst at an entomology fair. It's from 1953 and it is now out of print. #entomology #insects #bugs #bees #hymenoptera

Here is everything I got from the event on Saturday! #entomology

I went to the AES annual exhibition yesterday. It's an entomology fair that takes place every year in London and I love going there. :) #entomology #insects #bugs

This is probably my thinnest bug book that I own. It was published in 1954 and is now out of print. The staples holding the book together are rusty and the cover is stained. #entomology #zoology #diplura #bugs

This bee fly adopt is now up on my kofi shop for a starting price of £10! Once bought, you will get the image below without the writing over it and an extra piece of art. ko-fi.com/s/80e97788a2 Any support is appreciated! :) #insect #bug #bugart #art #adoptable #adopt #furryart

A gynandromorph of the mining bee Andrena flavipes, female half on the left with pollen brushes and short antenna, male half on the right with no pollen brushes and long antenna. From a water trap sample earlier this month.

This tiny Cryptophilus beetle and many of its friends were absolutely covered with mites at the blacklighting sheet this weekend. I see hitchhiking mites frequently, but never at this density!

Some anthro bug drawings from 2024 I found the other day. I've improved with drawing stylised anatomy for sure lol. Might redraw some of these designs one day. Maybe. #art #insectart #bugart #furryart #oc #smallartist

Still working on it #bugart #furryart #art #mosquito #wip

Wip, drawing a London underground mosquito, Culex pipiens f. molestus, for world mosquito day today. #bugart #art #furryart #mosquito #wip

Here's a fictional bug that I drew today! I posted this drawing on my other account, as it related to the stuff I post there, but it is also bug art so I'm quoting this post so it shows up on this account aswell :) #art #bugart

Pinnulas hirsutus, also known as the hairy nest bug, is a small species of parasitic insect native to Polus. They feed on blood and live in the nests of their native host species. However, they have been recorded feeding on human astronauts before. #amongusau #ISTRAau #art #bugart

I'm hunting for a "cryptid", but with tiny feet. I've launched a website about the creature. Are you a naturalist, #entomology , #arachnid or general invertebrate enthusiast around #swansea and #wales? Do you have a free weekend day in the UK? I'd love for you to come along. More on the website 🧪

rosariolebronentomology.comThe Lost Mite of the Irish Sea: Have you seen this mite?Found in Ireland, 1915. Found in Wales, 1987. Lost since. A one millimetre cryptid of the Irish Sea shores, and a weekend hunt to find it again.

Here's a dragonfly that I saw today in the London natural history museum's garden. I think that this is Sympetrum sanguineum, the ruddy darter. #entomology #insect #bug #dragonfly #odonata

I do an annual survey of several Reens and Ditches in South Wales, a small job I’ve kept on since retirement. Both Dytiscus dimidiatus and Hydaticus transversalis had been missing for several years until this year when they made an appearance once more. #Coleoptera #Dytiscidae

I love scientific illustrations like this, they're so pretty. This one is from the first book,"Owady szkodniki lasow lisciastych" (Insect pests of deciduous forests) and it is of the species Cimbex femoratus. #entomology #insects #bugs #hymenoptera

Yesterday, I managed to buy three old Polish books. One is about insects specifically whilst the other two are about invertabrates in general. I'm really happy to have bought them! #entomology #insect #bug

A couple of weeks ago, I found this old lady moth, Mormo maura, flying around before it decided to land near me to rest. #mothweek #moth #lepidoptera #insect #bug #entomology
