Sometimes the simple truth behind our complicated world pops up The present burden of “two sides”: 1. The protection and promotion of EVERYONE’s basic rights and standard of living 2. Word play and technicalities constantly used in order to maintain the established (& largely chud) niche

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

Just because a rice maker says a few words while steaming rice, it isn’t a chef’s “co-worker”. Part of the AI grift is giving these VC products permanence through anthropomorphizing them

It was the Yankees sweep last year that propelled the Jays to the World Series… just sayin 🤷‍♂️

Mike Wilner@wilnerness.bsky.social

#Bluejays win 4-1 to move within half a game of a playoff spot. They will have sole possession of the final wild card if the Twins and Rangers lose later today. Dylan Cease will be on the mound as #Jays go for a sweep of #Yankees tomorrow - they've held NYY to two runs in two games so far.

The worry of being“too much” is exactly what loses elections. Of anything can be learned from the right it’s to LEAN IN - to win a voter is to offer something to vote for

lauren@lauren.rotatingsandwiches.com

"no one will be normal about AOC if she runs for president" is both true and a bad reason for her not to run. you could run the most milquetoast middle of the road clean cut straight white man alive and the right is still going to act like the deranged freaks they are

All this does is once again confirm that “trans” “issues” aren’t about trans people at all - it’s about our fear of deranged straight men

Kinda hate that Canada has become the sliding doors version of what life would be like if Dems had won. Sure, neo liberalism looks good in contrast to the cons, but we’re absolutely torching our infrastructure, environment, arts & community services to do so

Why does every social media platform have to appeal to everybody? Like, is Bluesky being a bubble a bad thing??

The Serfs (youtube.com/theserfstv)@theserfstv.bsky.social

I think the Bluesky bubble effect is because no right wing movement can organically gain traction in such a hostile environment thanks to minorities and the gays making it successful in the first place and deciding not to tolerate it going forward

As a society we really have to say no to things. We need to pare down, throw out some things to focus on making other important things better

Let this be added to the goat arguments as evidence - would trump like Kobe? Probably? LeBron is corny fs but he’s been a good person his whole life

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

DOOCY: Where do you stand on LeBron versus Michael Jordan as the best ever? TRUMP: Michael Jordan's a friend of mine, play golf with him. He's a really good guy. and I think LeBron is maybe he's a racist but maybe he doesn't like Trump. I only like people who like me.

Sharkdancing@sharkdancing.bsky.social

Bogotá cycling infra is just amazing - One of the best cities I have had the privilege to cycle in. Physically protected bi directional lanes are well designed. Many styles, curb protected, centre median & raised to ht of the sidewalk. Here are a few examples,

Compare the federal “liberals” with our provincial “conservatives” to see fully how all Canadian politics are basically a neo-liberal race to the bottom where we own nothing collectively and every single facet of our existence has to be profitable to some international corp

They've appointed a new CEO of Nova Scotia Health, but the real news is this: news.novascotia.ca/en/2026/06/3...

This is true in Canada too. The whole ABC movement here is just a centrist push to keep the status quo for upper middle class and above while letting them feel better morally everytime they drive their new SUV by an encampment or unhoused person

The Knicks win their 11th STRAIGHT GAME and punch their ticket to the NBA FINALS for the first time since 1999! 🗽 They are the 5th team in NBA history to win 11+ consecutive games in a single postseason, joining the 2017 Warriors, 2001 Lakers, 1999 Spurs and 1989 Lakers.
