Love my twin daughters and love my wife. Hockey player and a Marine (0311). Worked for big companies. Now I work for myself. Results are a lag measure. Execution is the lead indicator. Where is your focus?

I was exposed to misinformation early. We inserted into Iraq in April of 1991 and it was bad. A news article posted 10 days before our arrival by a respected news magazine from the town we took painted a much different picture. According to them it was horrific. Free your mind. newslit.org

There are a few times over the year when I wish I had the type of account that makes things go viral and affects people. This is one of those times: MAKE SURE YOU'RE REGISTERED AND VOTE EARLY. Early is key.

Republicans are cheering that AI companies will be allowed to self-regulate their actions while cheering that women aren’t allowed to self-regulate their own healthcare. #Vote

I made progress last night but still need another 875 more subscribers this weekend to hit my goal. Democracy Docket is pro-democracy and fiercely independent. Sign-up now to help it grow. demdock.com/4w6emld

I am setting a very ambitious goal this weekend of 1000 new Democracy Docket subscribers. No spam, or unwanted emails. Just information and analysis about what is happening to voting and elections. Link: demdock.com/4w6emld

Republicans are not trustworthy negotiating partners. They lie every day. For some of them, it's part of their religion.

I am absolutely gutted by the news of Dolly Parton’s passing. Rest in Peace, Dolly. You made our world a much more beautiful place and you will be missed. 😞

quick PSA: if you're using block lists, you're letting someone else control who you have blocked — and those people aren't always reliable. i'm on lists like "doesn't use alt text" (when i always do), "DNC-operated botnet" (lmao), and "follows everyone just to get followers" (wut).

It’s that time of year again. Teachers, THANK YOU for what you do. If you need help stocking your room this year, please drop a link to your Classroom Wishlists in the comments! I’ll get as much as I can, and there are always some great members of the community who chip in too!

Let X = X, is all I have to say about this. Crappy judgment and no relevant job experience are crappy judgment and no relevant job experience, no matter how much people want an electoral savior

There comes a time when we stop separating the person from their actions. Accountability is a question. How can we do better?

Andrew Weinstein@andrewjweinstein.com

Sexual and physical abuse of women isn’t a partisan issue, it’s a national failure. What separates the two parties is whether they treat that failure as something to solve or something to excuse.

bold for a guy to question anyone’s testosterone when he once went on national television spray painted like a subway car

Harsh reality: EVERYBODY has a choice. But not everybody has options. Inequality is obvious and our children are not going to accept our failures as a society.

Can't thank Stephen Colbert enough for the decades of laughs he's given us. He's been positively therapeutic in these troubled times & I can't wait to see what he does next! 👀 (plus, he let me sit behind his desk) 🙏

I think the reason I've been a little ambiently mad all day is because January 6th rioters are statistically the most likely group of pedophiles in the world and they clubbed a guy to death and they're going to be rich from the tax money that I give to the country I live in.

Totally agree with this. The problem is not that people with incomes under $100k pay taxes, the problem is that people with billions pay virtually nothing WHILE aggressively trying to cut public services for the under $100k crew

maura quint@mauraquint.bsky.social

I really can’t state strongly enough how utterly stupid this is. Once you eliminate taxes for a class you will never be able to bring them back. And it WILL domino. Eliminating taxes and privatizing everything is the republicans’ end goal. Do not help them!!!

Dem rhetoric is the culprit, clearly.🙄

Schooley@schooley.bsky.social

A GOP that- Rationalized murder. Fetishized violence. Killed with remorseless glee. Pardoned violent mobs. Threatened genocide. Which raises the question: have Democrats gone too far?

Most interesting thing I’ve read in a while: “The opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety, it’s connection”. Johann Hari from “Chasing the Scream; the first and last days of the war on drugs”

i’m not a terribly sappy person but having seen some of these things end terribly, i teared up when they made contact after reentry. "And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod / The high untrespassed sanctity of space / Put out my hand and touched the face of God.“ - John Gillespie Magee Jr.
