Moved back to France in 2021 and the first pneumologist I saw cost me 20€ and listened to my whole tale calmly, let me talk and talk and talk about how nobody could tell me if it was really asthma, anxiety, or hormones, and she kindly goes "have you considered the fact that it could be all 3?" me:

lo and behold in those last five years my worst symptoms have gone from daily to once every few months, and I usually now how to tell them apart and treat them because she gave me a couple cheap tools to check myself and really that's all I needed! (Not that I *didn't* need the tests)

I think the thing that makes me the saddest about moving to a new place last year is that I can't see the same doc anymore. Paris has lots of very good healthcare options (despite America telling you that France's healthcare sucks cause it's free; spoiler alert it doesn't suck and it's not free)

Having experienced both systems, I have my favorite for sure. When i started having symptoms in 2016 in the US i think I went through a year of very uncomfortable, expensive and/or scary tests before a doc just shrugged and told me "yeah its very mild asthma, no idea what triggers it, good luck"

pro tip don’t spend a long time babysitting a wood-burning stove fire when you’re already recovering from a mild respiratory infection and the air in the house is dryer than the Santa Ana winds in October

dry cough for over a week, my knee hurts, it's too cold in the house but the wood stove has been drying the air so much my cough gets worse, the puppy's being a bitey demon, and I am sleep-deprived work: it'd be great if you did this meaningless task that has no value for you or the customer me:

CNews a repéré porte d'Italie des «manifestants qui se transforment en de futurs casseurs (…) ils viennent de s'équiper, vous l'avez vu en direct, les casques, les cagoules, les masques (…) ça s'est fait sous les yeux de nos caméras». C'était en Albanie. Des excuses ont suivi.

me counting the hours since I got the covid+flu shot earlier to see if I will escape the general shittiness everyone has reported this season, raising my arms every five minutes to know which one of the two is going to be the worst bitch

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

ok but this is actually an appropriate way to honor Bacchus and i think the ancients would have agreed

After getting the tdap, polio, and three hep B shots in a row in the accelerated ✌️healthcare worker✌️ protocol, and now covid and flu boosters, can i hope to become some kind of superwoman? please, god, i need it for my sanity

for my defense the sweater is burgundy red and I didn't notice and now here i am explaining to my coworker that it's fake blood and that i spent a good portion of that evening looking for a fake severed finger
