Imagine having worked on a project called Muse on and off for several years with the main worry around the name being whether it was too closely linked to a band from the 2000' We must not have nice things

Had ggsql not distracted me I could have beaten meta to it at which point they would have shrugged, released muse anyway, and nothing would have changed I guess the only way forward is to pick an offensively hideous name next time

Setting up integration testing for a bunch of backends for ggsql... Druid and Oracle are the last ones defying success and I can see my commit messages becomes more and more poetic as my hope dwindles

We have been hard at work on ggvis2 but we will have to severely restrict access to it due to safety concerns. The visualisations are just too convincing

๐Ÿ“ฆ Introducing shinyreact for R & Python Write your UI natively in React. Shrink your Shiny server to data-only logic. Agent Skills write the React for you. โœจ opensource.posit.co/blog/2026-09... This is the start! Tell us what you build and what breaks. #RStats #Python #Shiny #React

One of my greatest joys of the #rstats language is that it comes with both a runif() and stopifnot() function

Anna Fergusson@annafergusson.bsky.social

This is the week in my intro data science course where students learn that runif() is said r-unif not run-if, & they are like "duh" but no one had ever said it out loud before so they didn't know. Def read/watch more about this from @amelia.mn & of course @felienne.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy, linksโฌ‡๏ธ

Also, if you want to talk ggsql in any shape or form, come by during a break and Iโ€™ll be happy to chat

Iโ€™ll be presenting our work on #ggsql today at #PositConf2026 It will be lovely and whimsical and I hope youโ€™ll join both if your are new to ggsql or have been following along since the spring

It's 3am, I'm waiting in line to buy tickets for Studio Ghibli Museum, there are 12000 in front of me... This will be the key evidence if my kids ever doubt that I love them

I've been hard at work on a new renderer for #ggsql to replace Vega-Lite and it is close to ready for primetime. Here, you can see it running in the browser, showing of a much improved layout model for faceted plots, along with native markdown rendering

New native renderer for #ggsql supporting smooth resizing, rich text layout (not shown), and infrastructure to support interactivity, plot composition and more is coming along nicely

This is totally a glitch in the renderer and no-one can convince me otherwise
