I am a Northerner; Kingdom of Northumbria (now england). I honour my ancestors; Celt and Norse. I can teach you nothing; I can only hope to make you think. There are things I believe but there is nothing I can know.

IF it were my decision, I'd restore the old name & ensure the 'English' name is recorded including its history. Not to preserve some ancient bitterness against those long dead but to ensure it is not forgotten. History doesn't repeat itself. Repeatedly forgetting history's lessons is the problem.

Should the Highland town of Fort Augustus revert to its original name Kiliwhimin? 🇬🇧Fort Augustus was named in honour of William Augustus (Butcher Cumberland) by General Wade (‘Rebellious Scots to Crush’) Is it fitting for the town to be named after the man responsible for mass slaughter of Scots?🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Of course after indy they'd be most welcome to buy a share of our vast natural resources at market value, we're not gonny be petty about it but they will pay instead of taking it for free.

...and then use excess electricity to wind the weights back up?

#BBC Radio 4 5pm News considers the radical move to pedestrianise parts of Oxford Street. A spokesperson refers to precedents in other parts of the world eg in South Korea. Here is what the 3 principal streets of Glasgow city centre: Argyle St, Sauchiehall St, Buchanan St have looked like for years.

Yet, when I say... "This is what guns are really for." people call me extreme and outrageous.

UK energy bills could rise even more. Regulator is considering a Market Stabilization Charge to guarantee corporate profits. This would force energy companies to compensate consumers’ old suppliers for lost profits when people switch away. What would the govt do? Watch the Minister's reply.

To progress the sentiment of this post, it is reasonable to add; therefore, many stupid evil people must repeatedly have voted for #YvetteCooper & consequently the first fault lay with the stupid #electorate & secondly with Yvette Cooper; whom I suggest belongs at the bottom of an abandoned well.

Whenever the government/media/science want to create a crisis out come words such as 'could' 'might' and so on. Looking back over the last 50 years-worth of coulds/mights almost none actually happen.

This could get "interesting". UK reservoirs could run dry before Xmas, requiring water to be brought in from elsewhere. This is reported in the Daily Mail - I know - and so their map excludes Scotland (and NI) from the shortage graphic. Of course, Scotland has no such problem. I wonder why? 1/3

This is manipulation in an attempt to undermine #IndyRef2. Keep the Yes vote focused. Joining the EU is an option, not a definition of Scotland.

Is Burnham starting to think the only way to stop Scottish #indrpendence is by rejoining the #EU? If you want to be in the #EU then the only guaranteed route is via #indyref2 #areyouyesyet #snp #indy #endtheunion

Without anything to give scale it's problematic; however, a Yew with that much 'folding' in its trunk is a lot older than 2,500 years.

The Ankerwycke Yew is an ancient yew tree near Wraysbury in Berkshire, England. The tree is at least 1,400 years old and could be as old as 2,500 years. This tree is said to have been witness to the signing of Magna Carta in 1215. Original post

Спасибо Pavel Chekov for making part of my youth amazing. Boldly Go!

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

I literally spent a year investigating how the government props up Shell, and then they do this!

Currently wondering what message the UK govt thought it was sending by dressing up the Minister for Net Zero in a literal Shell logo.

#NetZero is a lie!? There's a surprise. The first thing that made me suspicious. and caused me to start researching when Net Zero first made an appearance, was... it's Nett not Net. Don't tell me people with an expensive education don't know the difference. The truth hidden in plain sight.
