Every once in a while, I fall into a slump of drawing, and there's usually two ways to climb out: Drawing my Vtuber design, and... Shin Getter Robo. This is from the last time that happened.

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

theatlantic.comThe Man Who Saved the Internet YesterdayOndřej Surý was a relatively anonymous volunteer working on PHP security. Then the internet exploded.

Neocities and hosted sites are not affected by PHP2Shell, we don't use PHP. However, if you have any non-Neocities sites running PHP, you need to patch them immediately. Read more here: www.wiz.io/blog/php2she... Cursory reading suggests this could be the worst exploit in web history.

Repost if $30k would change your life right now

Matt Darling@besttrousers.bsky.social

I don't think $30k is a life-changing amount of money. Median American born in 1980 will have $2m in income in their lifetime. It's a 1% increase in earnings.

I'm sure people smarter than me are already putting together thinkpieces, but there's a lot going on in here with things like Autonomy, relationships, and class that seems to tie together pretty well so far. I'm excited to see where it goes, though I dread "theory" BS that's sure to come.

It’s normal (and correct) to refuse to sign your likeness or performance over to AI. Even if there’s no indication that AI will specifically be used? Even if legally you’d be protected according to all sources? Saying no and standing by that is right.

The workers who make Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering are unionizing. The teams behind these famous games would join United Wizards of the Coast, a union established earlier this year by Magic: The Gathering Arena developers in partnership with the Communication Workers of America.
