I spoke a bit about Matthew Shepard over the weekend in person to some folks, but I didn't want to let the anniversary of his death — October 12, 1998 — pass by without giving a moment to him and his memory here.

Hello friends. My current house has a new resident in need. She came via city run rehab facility after being unhoused for 18 months. We’ve gone through our donated clothes, but her size has made things challenging. We’d love help getting her clothes and possibly shoes. Thank you in advance!

Hit a Red Socks game solo last night. The first time in a couple of years I hadn’t pre-gamed, used during, after, or completely missed because of addiction. I stayed 2 innings - long enough to eat a hotdog. It was a good night.

Therapist: what do you do to calm your nervous system when triggered Me: get my nose pierced. Therapist: That’s my girl. (I have the best therapist ever.)

To my recovery friends, ever have a using dream so vivid you wake up vomiting like you’re in the middle of ODing? 10/10 do not recommend

My new roommate is a diehard Trump hater, but also believes sunscreen, not the sun, it what gives people skin cancer. I can’t.

Library kids, library friends, we literally survived the day 💛 I am not okay, I'm on a journey to discover okay. I am not better, I'm getting help to be better. Today I am safe, I'm believing that is enough. You are enough. One day at a time. One tomorrow at a time 💚

Embracing the porn shoulders life. (As an aside, is anyone else filled with absolute rage that after all the shaming it’s suddenly ok to go sleeveless and still get a temple recommend? I was never about righteousness and always about control.)

Thinking a lot about gratitude. Things have been shitty for reasons (sweeps arm), but I’m grateful to be where I am. Out of all 13 women here I’m the only one who hasn’t been homeless or jailed/incarcerated. Some spend years in prison, for some this is the first time they’ve had their own bed.

That is important. I’ve fought and fought to not need a community of “me”, I wanted to be a “normie”, but I’m simply not - just like my sisters here. I’ve embraced some 12 step principles; a higher power(my homegirl Mary), turning over my will, making amends, and the one that always feels icky

Everything happens for a reason. (I use this in a very narrow, specific, recovery only way). I almost hate that it works, but it does. I’ve always hesitated with the sentiment “relapse is part of recovery”. It isn’t for everyone, but it is for me and wo it I wouldn’t be here.

Privilege is something I don’t take for granted; I’ve a car/license, I’m employable and work, and I get to see my little regularly. At the same time we all sit to budget our very limited finances (most come with nothing), attend a million meetings, and process mounds and years of trauma together.

I hear their stories and can’t believe how awful they are, they hear mine and feel the same as I do. Not a single one of us would wish our stories on any enemy. The thing is without those stories we wouldn’t be here, we wouldn’t be easing our emotional burdens with people the same as us.

Shout out to Paul for listening to my play by play while I suffer through colonoscopy prep. Lord Jesus take me.

Back in ‘24 my addiction counselor/therapist said one of his greatest accomplishments of his career was getting my spouse and me in a better place. Guess who swiped right on me today?

What the looksmaxxing goons cannot grasp is that this is generally what women actually want

Found this on Tumblr with the caption, "Saw a fire, stopped his car, got out and Madonna'd the fuck out of those flames". I want him carnally.

IG reels is trying to convince me should foster disabled cats when I get outta here and honestly I just may do it.

Guess who’s putting the *Joe back in Trader *Joe’s? *hoe I’m grateful for TJ’s cont support as I’ve attempted, failed, and attempted again to get and stay sober. My job feels like the only secure thing amongst the chaos. I’m grateful to be in an emotionally safe and secure living situation xo

I'm dying at the crumbl cookie drinks. They have so much sugar in them that it's an equivalent of eating like over a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and people are like "WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS" And I'm like "ITS BECAUSE MORMONS AREN'T ALLOWED TO DO DRUGS"

Today’s schedule consists of -group trauma therapy -addiction therapy -individual trauma therapy It’s gonna be a long day.
