Trump's USDA is ordering grocery stores to follow a federal rule outlawing them from giving discounts to SNAP recipients whose benefits are currently frozen illegally. So Trump's happy to finally follow the law as long as long as he can inflict pain and cruelty? Got it.

Obama: As for the president, he has been focused on critical issues like paving over the rose garden so folks don't get mud on their shoes and gold plating the Oval Office and building a ballroom… If you can't visit a doctor, don't worry. He will save you a dance.

Pritzker: "Imagine it. Children who woke up that morning, expectant with joy & excitement to put on their costumes & celebrate with their neighbors in what they thought was a safe place at their homes. Armed, masked agents, terrorizing innocent people, especially children, is unconscionable."

I appreciate what Newsom is doing, but I wish he'd ditch throwing trans people under the bus as a winning strategy. You're either for equal rights for all, or you're not.

Governor Gavin Newsom@governor.ca.gov

The President of the United States is so upset about his failed campaign for a Nobel Prize that he's now trying to claim someone else's prize as his own. Pathetic.

That’s what I am talking about, there’s that bite — call for that lawful action! Our current leaders are just hand-wringing weaklings who are only good for lamenting their lack of power as minority leaders.

In a sharp escalation of the long-simmering clash between federal immigration enforcers and state officials, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called for local law enforcement in California to arrest ICE agents if they violate state laws during upcoming raids in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This tells me that the kids are alright.

Independents blame Trump and the GOP for the shutdown by a 2:1 margin. Trump’s approval with people under 30 has completely cratered. 63% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s management of the federal government. #GOPShutdown

Leaked document. Yikes, things are about to get much worse. It looks like we’re on the verge of becoming a military state across the country. Step out of line, and the man come and take you away.

Gallego is 100% correct—norms are out the fucking window. What’s crazy to me is Dem leaders seem to have adopted an identity of weakness and refuse to use their platforms to, at the very least, PASSIONATELY spread facts/truth and to endorse Dem nominees. They act so meek, it’s pathetic.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Donald Trump's puppet DOJ has no business screwing around with next month's election. Sending the feds into California polling places is a deliberate attempt to scare off voters and undermine a fair election. We will not back down. Californians decide our future — no one else.

After trying to bribe Kilmer Abrego Garcia into pleading guilty by telling him they’d send him to Costa Rica if he did and to Africa if he didn’t, the Trump admin is now refusing to acknowledge that he agreed to be deported to Costa Rica — but won’t plead guilty.

Update on Kilmar Abrego Garcia: While the judge deliberates on whether to release him, DOJ says the US identified a country that will take him: Liberia. Abrego Garcia's lawyers prev had said he was willing to go to Costa Rica and that officials there were amenable; no mention of that buff.ly/sAR7n1Y
