The Venezuelan sports ministry sponsors professional adult baseball but not youth league girls’ soccer (they do pay for some tournaments). That’s cause the baseball league is a distraction for a population that has seen decades of misery. Why invest in the future when you have to quell the present?

A Musk decision caused Ukrainian deaths. The richest man on the planet may be led to believe that there's nothing above his pay grade. Turns out, there is. First he will lose potential clients and growth, and then, he will start being sued by international courts. bbc.com/news/article...

I don't agree with this. Even though Elon Musk received over $38,000,000,000 in corporate welfare from the federal government, he should still be allowed to vote. Once. What he should *not* be allowed to do is to interfere with *our* votes.

"Hey Siri, please play Prince songs that were made famous by other artists" is the kind of AI I'm very sympathetic with. I don't want to try this prompt to not be disappointed. Extra points if it catches "When You Were Mine".

One of the biggest villains in Venezuelan politics is a man called Henrique Capriles Radonski. His biggest crime was conceding to Maduro after the 2013 elections. Maria Corina Machado (a well-deserved Nobel laureate) OTOH, AFAIK has never admitted being wrong about supporting a coup in 2002.

What a surprise.

The alternatives are not so good when the least crazy option is a man entering his fourth term as President. Not that we Venezuelans are example of anything, but Brazilian politics seems to be broken.

Absolutely surreal to see the turnout for my book signing yesterday in LA. Got to talk to so many incredible people. Thank you so much for reading my comics!

He thought it would sound cool like "I ordered the code red", but he just left a country vulnerable to attacks, with no benefit except to help Putin, and is left now with [more] blood in his hands. Private companies shouldn't make security decisions, they should just deliver the equipment.

To get our bachelors' degree in Mechanical Engineering here in Venezuela, we had to pass an ethics subject. But that's not the main reason why I personally don't cheat in the work I do. First, it's icky, and second, I may lose customers down the line.

It is imperative that #engineers understand the ethical and social implications of their technologies, argue three engineering professors. Solutions include integrating ethics into foundational engineering courses. buff.ly/J7MKU9A

Not to play the victim, because there's a lot that can be fixed in Venezuelan agriculture, but one big reason why we import soy and corn from the US, is because growers there get Federal subsidies to keep prices artificially low. It's called dumping, and keeps the Venezuelan farmer poor.

As his policies bankrupt them, Trump-supporting farmers fully embrace socialism. But only if it’s for them.

IMHO, the people that are more willing and likely to work longer hours are the ones with empty nests. Obviously, you don't have the same energy in your 50's than in your 20's, and may have stubborn beliefs. But it's not like you're suddenly gonna quit to get married. www.wsj.com/lifestyle/ca...
