@NPR has yet to write a story about it. If you were curious why I cancelled my monthly membership, that's a big part of the reason. Not one word about Bernadette Greene-Placienta. Not one word about the Dem Justice Committee Epstein report. Silence in the face of the party of Rapists.

Andy Craig@andycraig.bsky.social

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

Looking like we might have a generational shift in electoral politics in a few weeks. Worth taking a honest look at "what did I actually do to make that happen" I'd be curious to hear answers!

I phone-banked for Harris & canvassed for local progressive, but organizing community was by far the most rewarding and effective - within the church, toastmasters, and our neighborhood. Changed hearts & GOTV.

A favorite moment from he last few weeks was hearing a guy (who used to be manosphere adjacent) give a speech about how the guys around him helped him grow the backbone to interrupt sexual harassment at a party. People do change, follow the people who know how to help them along.

Because in 2-6 years our neighbor's reactive attachment disorder (and a billion dollar propaganda machine) is gonna kick in and we should all have things we can *do* and double down on doing to counteract that. Tl/dr: Find someone(s) to follow!

Not quite there yet... Next year on Broadway?

Spent my morning on the bike listening to Lady Gaga's new "Mayhem" & dreaming of October 2026 - tuning into an all-trans cast performing a Halloween-themed rock opera inspired by the album as the cameras pan to soon-to-be-senator AOC in a box-seat and the crowd goes wild.

This is a beautifully concise and heartfelt guide for Christians to leave transphobia behind. I wrestle with this myself and am still learning, but as a starting point in moving from "male and female He created them" to a more nuanced and loving view of scripture this is brilliant.

I was so moved by this Christian dad’s response to a despondent trans kid whose father wouldn’t support their care on “Christian” grounds. It’s never OK to use Christ as a weapon of hate. God is love. 💗 www.reddit.com/r/cisparentt...

Jim Rohn has a great bit about being a happy taxpayer. Good (or even neutral/decent) Govt is the goose that lays the golden egg.

Conservatives get very upset when you answer their question directly, force them to own the subtext of the question, and expose the bad-faith politics underneath all of it. You cannot separate this from the context of the President calling AES a “jihadist” and “Mohammad” at his rallies. You can’t.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

Brilliant, Simple, Civil, and truly, as much as we denizens love our violent metaphors, KIND. As kind as it is possible to be to someone approaching in bad faith. I can't wait for this man to be in the Senate.

Also a perfect demonstration of something that I'm learning for loved ones who bring up politics. "Why are you asking me that right now, what are you hoping to accomplish?" When you're not running for senate you don't have to do the education part, but it's enough of a boop to stop the pattern.

Was wondering about the mid-november/January target for the Musk movie but realizing I'm (and voters) are not the target audience of the movie. Its Schumer & Jeffries.

Update: without explanation, and after being suspended for more than an hour during peak mobilization time, Zuckerberg's Instagram restored the No Kings account but we still lack admin access. More to come. Rest assured we will not stop organizing against this regime and its collaborators.

I know America. I know that, in America, we believe in a country big enough for all of us. So, JD Vance, don't you dare come from Ohio to lecture me. You don't know a damn thing about America.

"they are not real Christians" is a thought stopping cliche that lets us neglect our responsibility to disciple our co-religionists, and the same tool they use to dehumanize and distance themselves from those who might restore them.

Joel S.@joelhs.bsky.social

It's certainly a notable finding that Christian nationalists rarely attend church, but to go from there to saying that this is not a revival of Christianity seems like an unsupportable link. Exclusionary nationalism is Christianity, not in all forms, but in a major form it has historically taken.

Studying Jonah this week and learning that expecting and asking God to destroy our enemies is a good way to get on the wrong side of His grace. What is our responsibility to those who would use God's name in vain to spread hate and violence?

New drivers ed requirements: 1. Close pass simulator so you know how terrifying it is. 2. During the class a car horn goes off randomly to let you know what it sounds like from the outside.

NPR still doesn't even have a story posted about Bernadette Greene-Placentia, and every headline (other than original Phoenix story) is " she says/reports/alleges" when she was literally bruised and bleeding. By God we need a MeToo that burns the way this press treats victims to the ground...
