NEW: The Mark Carney government today signed an MOU expanding military cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, which is widely accused of backing mass-killings by the RSF paramilitary forces in Sudan. www.readthemaple.com/canada-signs...

readthemaple.comCanada Signs Military MOU With U.A.E. As It Backs Sudan MassacresThe new MOU “establishes a framework for enhanced military cooperation, information sharing, training and defence engagement.”

The same is true of all illiberal and anti-democratic voices. De-platforming works.

Max Fawcett@maxfawcett.bsky.social

The separatists in Alberta lost. Badly. Why we don't have to go around pretending otherwise -- and why those who keep trying to platform their voices and reason with their unreasonable grievances are doing more harm than good. #cdnpoli #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2026/10/26/o...

Jeff did not run the most inspiring campaign. Shying away from taking a stance against mass death for fear of upsetting those who see themselves in the killers and not the victims is a losing strategy and puts you on the wrong side of a stark moral issue.

ngl I feel good about not being responsible for any of this shit *gestures vaguely*

I’m committed to supporting our local farms and making practical investments in our communities, including ensuring the widening of the Innes Bypass moves forward during the next term of city council. #24in48

The real outcome of the Alberta referendum is "we'll stay in Canada but we FUCKING HATE IMMIGRANTS and we have a mandate to make their lives miserable, try to stop us and we'll have another hissy fit." I can't celebrate that.

On today's episode of the Ezra Klein Show: Chrystia Freeland pronouncing Vladimir Putin's name like she's sucking on a lemon soaked in borscht.

Alberta: Staying in Canada seems good for me personally. Also Alberta: I must restrict access to the things that make Canada good for me personally.

Does it seem weird to anyone else that there are zero consequences for demanding and then losing a referendum? Like, anyone can just cause a tremendous amount of disruption and if they win, their demands are met, but if they lose...nothing happens? Everyone else has to deal with the fallout?

And @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social doesn’t think it’s very important as a campaign statement. Hasn’t talked to the families of the dead individuals that I know of. #autowa in general, couldn’t give a flying f word so long as their commute isn’t impacted. He runs his runs, mostly on NCC paths. All 👍

I wouldn't be at all surprised if these cops volunteered for this so they could beat up some cyclists. They hate us so much. They are drivers so they hate us. And they are cops so they can instrumentalize that hate with impunity.

I was told there was a cop shortage and that's why Toronto is now Gotham? 🤔

A cop car carrying a flashing neon sign that says "DOUG FORD HATES YOU." Perfect, no notes, thanks for the great visual @ TV writers of the universe!

Has anyone in the history of the world ever abided by a SIDEWALK CLOSED or PEDESTRIANS USE OTHER SIDEWALK sign? Unlikely. So why do they continue to deploy them?

How different the NCR could be if the Liberals had not instructed the NCC to privatize its landscaping division. Lafleur, Gemma, Strathmore, etc. All could have been in-house, and therefore much more accountable than they are today. Not to mention the good public sector union jobs that were lost.
