I don't post NSFW but I do cuss an awful lot
The cops are just whining.
"An NYPD spokesperson confirmed Mamdani has โutilized the Police Academy gym at off-hoursโ but said the mayorโs use of the gym โhas not disrupted any recruit training.โ
โDonald Trumpโs frequent golf weekends at his own resort raises questions about Mayor Mamdaniโs usage of an NYPD gym for him and his friendsโ @nytpitchbot.bsky.social
Politico framing this as a problem. MAGA owners of this outlet are crap. Politico- ever been to New York? We love basketball, find all kinds of places & times to play it. And watch it. Rabid Knick & Nets fans. Police are scrambling to do their jobs poorly. Give me a break.
Many people are talking (correctly) about how youth participation was important for this result, but Iโm crying because of scenes like this as well. Older people who arenโt required to vote anymore but made a point to show up and reject fascism.
"I want to continue being transphobic, but I don't want it to stop the left voting for me so I'll turn it down a notch": Sarah Trone Garriott - a transphobe and hypocrite.
Fuck this transphobic bigot. She's still willfully painting trans people as presumed predators and it's disgusting. And calling trans women any variation of "men" is and will always be a slur
What's striking to me are the rules of engagement and the methodology of action here, which more or less is predicated on burying liberal delusions about "debate" or the "marketplace of ideas". The rules were ultimately very simple: amplify your own message and suppress your opponent's.
Genuinely I don't know that it comes across to people who haven't been here to watch how almost unbelievable this was, just people taking something that looked impossible and dragging it kicking and screaming all the way to inevitability.
Iโm not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Donโt share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.
we fucking nailed it robert. we literally changed the course of history over the last three weeks.
you guys can do this too. here's to hoping Americans kneecap the Trump administration in the midterms
We won not only against Bolsonaro, but against the full force of the USian's Big Techs, Meta, CIA, Trump, the Brazilian right-wing elites, the billionaires' press and more.
Everyone thought Lula was cooked, hopeless. Then he bought a phone and started posting and now he's gonna get a 4th term. The lesson is to never stop posting.
I went to our local Pride event dressed as Jesus to stand between my LGBTQIA+ neighbors and the self-righteous stone-throwers.
It was a beautiful, miraculous day.
Hereโs what happenedโฆ

Hardly a day goes by without me recalling the observation by @doctorow.pluralistic.net that bosses are the last to discover the limitations of AI, just before the realisation that the hires they now need are the people they previously fired and replaced with the AI.
What I'm effectively forced to do, is run the AI summariser on the report to check what it says in case the reader uses AI on it *despite my summary*, and then acts on whatever the AI generated rather than what I've actually written.
Excellent summary of the present state of relations between Russian and American oligarchical clans. Please read and share.

the current republican party (and politics in general) is an example of what may happen when people are free from consequence of breaking the law. following the same principle, we predict the trajectory and behavior of AI companies when products are shielded from liability. in this paper,
