Be careful this Halloween! Already I was given candy that had poison, the poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison.

My LI Retro pickups for this year. Its very hard to accurately convey how weird Xenoblade 3D is (especially on a non-XL system), but it makes me feel like other devs never properly took advantage of the New 3DS enough

Say it with me now โ€œNo upgrade pathโ€

In other news check out the totally real panel de pon 64 rom that just dropped

Brenden@bro3256.com

It appears the alleged prototype ROM is confirmed to be a hoax as the "round clear" screen does not exist in the final ROM for Pokรฉmon Puzzle Challenge as it was made specifically for the restoration ROM hack.

This has been my stance on (physical) game preservation A physical copy of Mario Kart World and a game key card are of equal value to preserving their history

Statement from VGHF director Frank Cifaldi on the discontinuation of physical PlayStation media, and the closure of the PS3 and PSP digital storefronts.

Code-In-Box is a much bigger deal than the game being $80, imo

I've written up a more formal version of my theory about game rentals stifling the popularity of JRPs in the west. If you were around back in the 90's, I'm curious if you have something to say about it uncommentedcode.net/posts/Did%20...

Iโ€™ve had a theory for a while that game rentals being so prevalent in the US contributed to this If you rented a JRPG, you probably would have to start fresh after you returned it By the time FFVII came out, memory cards made this a non-issue

With everything that's happening in the world sending the price of any gaming hardware into the stratosphere while people are squeezed harder and harder on all fronts financially, it's time to revive an affordable platform for everyone.

Omori on switch 2 running with Handheld Mode Boost enabled, before vs after Itโ€™s a cool test case since only handheld mode fills the screen vertically, and for most switch 1 games itโ€™s not too obvious if itโ€™s running in TV or handheld mode Hard to tell from the screenshots but itโ€™s much better

Supporting re-releases matters, even if you can in theory "play on emulator" or however you find a way to experience a particular game through an alternative. Sure downloading for free won't hurt the big corporations but it will hurt any chances of future official re-releases from ever happening.
