So the @puppytruck.dog demo is a huuuuuuuge taste. The movement and jumping are so good. Arf! One of the few 3D platforming games where I didn't get upset missing a jump and falling. Arf! I don't know why there are floating books, or why I'm a puppy that is a truck, but I dig it. Go try it! Arf!

Yeah. Flying into Burbank for my connecting flight, I really gotta say, we're not ready for flying cars.

I am using this from now on.

In 1934, we added a gender-neutral pronoun for a single third person. ‘Thon’ was short for “that one.” It didn’t catch on.

I've mentioned before I've updated my contracts to make sure everything in the production of my books is done by humans and not "AI"; if you're wondering what such a thing looks like, here's a clause covering that from a recent contract.

#graphics folks, what are some interesting missing features / unsolved problems / etc. in shader compilation / optimization / profiling / tools? One of my students wants to do something like this for their masters degree.

It's because the search was the fun part.

Among people I know the issue is why you are in math. Some people are apparently quite happy to digest and improve ai-found theorems. Other people feel like they're being instructed by billionaires to sift through trash.

Just seen it's Wikipedia's 25th birthday. The greatest website online, and possibly the internet's greatest fruit

The "golden age of gaming" isn't one where the vast majority of people who love games can't afford the equipment to play them and where those who make the games get their ideas (and ability to pay rent) stolen from them.

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

Nature is healing.

Tiny Brutalism is officially on Steam! After the overwhelming response, I can finally say... WISHLIST NOW! Link below #gamedev #indiedev

I'm reading that home-equity secures some 6.8% of business loans across the U.S. but I can't figure if that is ALL business loans or some subset.

The takeaway should not be that it's okay because it's no longer being livestreamed. The takeaway should be that execution is horrible.

I finally played Cairn. There are some truly amazing systems in it, but I also only made it 2 hours into it, because the climbing system was so frustrating. I don't think this is a reflection on the devs or the tremendous quality of the game. Just not for me probably.

Part of it was definitely that I rock climb a lot, and the automatic limb selection would make choices that made no sense to me when I had an obvious plan on what the next move should be. When I finished the entire gym/tutorial area it was because I got reasonably good at manually picking.

"Most people are aware of societies that are governed dictatorially but not of the fact that within even the least autocratic societies, such organizations as prisons, armies, churches, and corporations are frequently ruled by dictators." Wait. Is corporate governance a causal condition of fascism?
