Everything that’s happened over the past six months has been a response to an imaginary crisis. There is no immigrant invasion. No trade crisis. No scientific or governance crisis. Just people completely high off their own supply trying to fundamentally reorder society. None of this had to happen.

It's been a rough week for the NOAA family, including feds, contractors, and scientists across this country / world. I need to say something very important. It is my motivation to get you the weather, water and climate data you need, regardless of what has, or will happen to us.

This will get almost no attention. It fucking should though. The combustion of coal, oil and gas is killing one of the most remarkable and important places on the planet before our eyes, and most people are looking away instead.

Trump says he’s going to get rid of America’s “EV mandate.” There isn’t one. But there’s definitely a “car dependency mandate,” and Trump will make it much worse. That’s less choice, less freedom, and worse consequences for all. Via @keawilson.bsky.social in @usa.streetsblog.org #CarDependency

Trump declaring an "energy emergency," aggregating more powers to himself so as to ram through unnecessary & deadly fossil-fuel development, is all the more infuriating becuz the Dems have refused to declare a climate emergency, leaving the space wide open for occupation by authoritarian interests.

Someone tell that sanctimonious pixie Speaker Mike Johnson that if he places conditions on California's ability to rebuild, his state, Louisiana, the Welfare Queen of Federalism, won't be able to fix any of its roads because that money comes from the far more successful economy of California.

Yes. ExxonMobil's own scientists DID predict how much the planet would warm given continued fossil fuel burning. And they DID warn us about the "potentially catastrophic events" that would result from that warming in their 1982 internal memo. #NewClimateWar #CaliforniaFire
