An FAA notice issued a few minutes ago implies JD Vance will be in St. Cloud on Friday, Oct 30.

ESPN is saving on announcers leading into the Wolves-Heat game. Meanwhile, drama supreme on who’s calling its NFL games …

This appeared to be ESPN’s Unlimited feed. But it was on my regular ESPN channel on YouTube TV. When they came back from the break midway through the first, now it’s carrying announcers and midcourt cameras.

Another day down the trail with my better half. It wasn’t our greatest day, but it ended OK, together, on a hike. This was in the Wisconsin Dells, and it was much needed to escape the commercialism (although you might see a tour boat in one shot) for a quick 1.8-mile hike.

Came home from the Dells today, but not before a duck boat tour. Quite the treat to be on the water today, so much so that I didn’t take any photos there. River was busy with fisherpeople.

I don’t know much about baseball but just saw Brewers fans talking about the Timeless Ticket they’ve purchased and I will be keeping an eye on this 👀 (essentially, in 2014 the team started selling $1000 tickets that you can redeem anytime, and now the fans are cashing in for World Series tickets)

Got a glimpse of the restoration work done and still to go at the Basilica of St. Mary here in Minneapolis. We got a post-Mass look: The ceiling paint work and the second shot of the stone show the most change. But so do the stained glass windows! Also lot to go, as the scaffolding shot shows.

‪The one shot I didn’t get last week during the preview of the renovation work at the Basilica of St. Mary was one of the front exterior. Yes, some work still to go here. ‬

If you aren’t planning to watch the Lions tonight, like me, @tcm has a fine slate of films: “All the President’s Men” at the top of the hour, followed by “The Manchurian Candidate.” Quality continues: The Battleship Potemkin,” then “Blue” and “White” from “Three Colors” series. Movies worth saving.

“Coyote v. Acme” is a fond tribute to all the secondary Looney Tunes characters. They got a chance to be the real stars, summed up by the citation of “pursuant to Sylvester v. Gonzales” …

‪I know one of my kids has seen enough Looney Tunes to get most of the jokes. But it brought me back to fond Saturday mornings where these characters and stories filled the TV airwaves. ‬

A NEW CHAPTER OF HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA 📺 Hockey Night in Canada returns December 5 with the 2026 Walter Cup Champion Montréal Victoire taking on PWHL Hamilton at 7PM ET!

Beautiful afternoon to sit outside and watch my high schooler … work on the chain gang at the Roosevelt-Washburn B squad football game. He’s recovering from a muscle strain.

Back at Roosevelt for the homecoming game vs. Camden. I made just in time for halftime, which means I missed the boldness of tonight’s sunset. But the clouds have revealed the full moon.

My family went to D.C. in the mid-‘80s, and the Kennedy Center tour made a huge impression on me as a kid. I wonder if we referred to the center as its first name, the National Cultural Center, its loss would be more deeply felt.

"If the plan had been to run the Kennedy Center into the ground so completely that shutting it down was the only option, Grenell aced the assignment." Read it and weep. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...

Not entirely sure what the kerfuffle was over Rodriguez’s blast here in the Twins-Yankees game. It was foul by feet. Unless the home plate ump told him to run it out? But sitting on the first base line, I was confused why he even bothered to run. It wasn’t close to fair.
