Keeping an eye on the lies and machinations of the tech bros, broligarchs, Joe Brogans, and every other weird bro causing harm to society as a result of their fragile masculinity

It's hilarious how people still have doubts that Elon Musk's Nazi salute was exactly that. Meanwhile, old mate is just literally posting about the Great Replacement Theory on his timeline.

Feel like this should be a much bigger story, regarding Elon Musk's post about FEMA supposedly funneling money to illegal migrant hotels and calling it a "criminal action": Court docs: "The government concedes and the Court finds that...the post by Mr. Musk was entirely false."

Here's the most Musk-focused passage in this opinion...

A couple of years ago I wrote an article about the Dark Enlightenment, in which I tied together the Technocracy movement of Elon Musk's grandfather with the the modern Network State movement. At exactly the same time as I was writing it, Elon Musk literally tied it together for me.

This is a perfect encapsulation of Musk: It's all about selling the myth of him as a visionary 'creating the future' for the rest of us (and hence juicing the stock price), rather than creating a practical product that can create actual profit for his company.

Elon Musk/Tesla just unveiled their long-rumoured 'flying car' at today's Roadster event. An impressive marketing video catering to the 'Everyone is 12 now' population, but totally useless for everyday driving (and unlikely to ever be street legal in any way).

Also, wondering how small the battery would need to be to keep the car light enough to be kept off the ground by compressed air. Given Musk's history of hype, there's a fair chance this might be vaporware (the second gen Roadster reveal was 9 years ago, and has never appeared).

Also Peter Thiel and Marc Andreessen's intellectual guru, which is perhaps more important because they're basically running the US government now (and Thiel 'owns' JD Vance).

Mike Masnick@masnick.com

I'm sure the NY Times tomorrow will have another story about Hasan Piker, and not a mention of the VP's "intellectual guru" saying this...

This is grabbing people's attention but I think it's also worth pointing out that in this same discussion Kurt Metzger says he gets his info from Kiwi Farms (look it up) and said @bencollins.bsky.social last name was a "converso name for Cohen". The Rogansphere is an absolute shitshow of awfulness.

This post is unavailable.

The discussion was in the context of the new Elephant Graveyard video that has gone viral. We mentioned last year that the previous Elephant Graveyard video had mentioned the Dark Enlightenment and its influence on the Rogansphere: bsky.app/profile/weir...

For those of us who've been raising questions about how the Dark Enlightenment cult have been co-opting the Rogansphere to manipulate modern culture, you'll definitely enjoy this pay-off near the end. Though you should watch the whole thing for the full experience! (ping @gilduran.com)

Just for clarity, Pax Silica is being pushed by Jacob Helberg, whose husband, Keith Rabois, is a Thielverse OG from back in his Stanford Review days.

Gil Durán@gilduran.com

Peter Thiel says the "Antichrist" will preach "peace." Now his cronies in the Trump regime are pushing "Pax Silica" ("Silicon Peace"). It's a grandiose name for AI colonialism and imperialism. 1st target: The Philippines. More from @kieraevebutler.bsky.social www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

In his Thiel biography 'The Contrarian', Max Chafkin notes that Rabois was basically a mini-me of Thiel, who soon became his mentor at Stanford (Thiel is 2 years older). Both are gay, but at the time were closeted, leading to this sort of self-hating nonsense.

😳 Jacob Helberg—who left his position as an advisor at *Palantir* to join the Trump State Dept—spearheads the international “Pax Silica” initiative. In May, he discussed it w/ Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale: “Jacob Helberg on Pax Silica & the New Global Order in the AI Age” 1/

Opinion | Democrats have lost Silicon Valley. Here's what it will take to win it back If Democrats want to become the party of the future again, they need to stop treating the people building the future like political enemies.

Here is a guest on Tucker Carlson’s podcast saying that algebra is a conspiracy by the Jews to turn people into “good little goy slaves.” I wish I was joking.

Beyond the weird views of those individuals, the most salient thing to note is that ALL OF THEM ARE FROM THE THIELVERSE. Literally, Peter Thiel is now in charge of the direction of science in the most powerful nation on Earth.

Weird Bros reposted

Just watched an interview with Eric Weinstein in which he notes that he had been in Washington discussing the future of science in America with Trump administration officials Michael Kratsios, Jay Battacharya and Jim O'Neill, and if you're a science writer you should be writing about that insanity.

2IC of the world's most powerful nuclear nation and protege of Peter 'the Antichrist walks among us' Thiel. Nothing to worry about I'm sure, carry on...

Vance: I'm trying to focus on doing as much of God's work as possible. And if that leads to the end times, okay

Josh Hawley is a Thiel boy, so plenty of skepticism from me that this is more performative than anything (Thiel was an early investor in Flock), though possibly as a minority investor this is an easy scapegoat to take the heat off the other companies (or a dig at Andreesssen, who has more in Flock)?

Raekwon fans are mad about his relationship with Palantir. Ex: "Rappers used to be brave and speak on things that nobody had the stomach to talk about."

I have a chapter on Lonsdale and his punitive (and influential) homeless policy in GILDED RAGE.

Brian Goldstone@brian-goldstone.bsky.social

This is where we are: a tech billionaire who, as an undergrad writing in the Stanford Review, "blasted a student movement to raise custodians' pay, warning it 'destroys incentive for them to improve themselves,'" is now a chief architect of a homelessness policy built around punishment and coercion.
