100 days of bird art

Bird sonas! 🦉🐦‍⬛ We’ve actually had these secondary mascots for a couple of years, which came to be after we found some masks that spoke to us. I’ve been meaning to make proper designs based upon their colors and I finally finished em!

‘Wildwood’ director Travis Knight on AI: “A pencil is a tool. A paintbrush is a tool. A 3D printer is a tool. A digital capture is a tool. AI is not a tool. AI can go fuck itself.”

NEXT SUNDAY, LIGHTBOX PEEPS!! Come over to my book signing, it’s happening a couple blocks away from Lightbox Expo! 1-3pm on October 25th, I’ll have signed books at The Open Book in Pasadena (at the Paseo) 📚 👻

If you want a bat for Halloween, might I suggest one of our hand made leather critters. No taxidermy, and our leather is a by-product of the beef industry, so no endangered species. Plus, they're posable, and can be used as a key ring or bag charm! In a variety of colors. FrostnEmberCreations.com

Hiya! Since it's almost Halloween, it's time for one of my "favorite" spooky season PSAs! Don't buy taxidermy bats! None of them are ethically sourced, most are endangered, and the market for taxidermy or freeze dried bats is descimating local populations. Etsy, ebay, curio shows, none are okay.

I love fall so much. I've lived in Vermont my whole life and foliage season still seems like such a completely bonkers and beautiful thing to happen every year. It never gets old. 🍂

Me: “I’m writing a new comic pitch!” Also me:

🍂 Is it spooky time yet?! #cuteart #illustration

I'm still trying to recover from the expense of the procedure for my grandpa. If you wish to help, you can share or commission me here or on VGen. vgen.co/WhitefoxDesi... I'm also still accepting donations and tips on my Kofi ko-fi.com/whitefoxdesi... Thank you so much for all your help!

Me waking up on September 30th: ah what a lovely autumn day Me waking up on October 1st:

Crows and a raven! As I try to feel some fall energy within these endless heatwaves out here 🥲 #crow #raven #october #fall #corvids

Steller’s Jay & Say’s Phoebefor Gale 🪶 Thank you for the trust! My books are open for October, November, & December. Get on them while you can!

I wanna draw more fun fall/halloween stuff! I’m taking limited pumpkin head commissions, with a quick turn around time of 1 week. Ko-Fi link to commission listing is in bio, or DM if interested. #fall #autumn #YCH #animals #halloween

I was worried if my comic is perhaps too self indulgent, but then I remembered the words of Björk and now I need to make it even more self indulgent 🥰

Had to give some love to my spark bird before they get into their dull winter plumage. I got lucky to have all three goldfinch species - American, Lesser, and Lawrence’s - at my feeders with their fledglings. #birds #goldfinch #americangoldfinch #lessergoldfinch #birdart

It’s criminal that I haven’t drawn my favorite bird this whole time. Crows are definitely a special bird to me, but I also have a soft spot for the very softspoken Say’s Phoebe. #saysphoebe #birds #birding #flycatcher

Just don’t 😃🚫 [ #cuteart #illustration ]

Shout-out to Travis Knight, who's father is the CEO of Nike (yes THAT Nike, the shoe brand) using his immense inherited wealth to fund stop motion animation at a financial loss purely for the love of the art. Laika Studios my beloved <3

Procreate confirms it has NO plans to add generative AI features to its apps. The company continues to stand firmly against integrating generative AI into its creative tools.

Repost for #spyrocommunityday of my favorite dragon 💜💜💜

Hey!!! I have work lined up, but it doesn't start for a few more weeks, and pay will take a couple weeks after to start coming in-- I know things are tight for everyone, so even a share would be helpful! ko-fi.com/dillydalleyd...

IT’S SEPTEMBER!! Fall is on its way! #autumn #fall #crow #pumpkinseason

I love to bake but find cooking really hard and my friends are like “oh but baking’s hard for me!” I don’t believe you!! Baking recipes tell you EXACTLY what to do down to the grain of flour! Meanwhile cooking recipes are like “cook til done. Flavor to taste” WHAT DO YOU MEEEEEEAN

Man I sure do love opening up this app and seeing a load of cool friends making tons of cool shit The world is full of horrors but my feed is full of delights

Apropos of I am VERY mad for a friend: If you have not made a comic book before and are coming from other media writing, GET A COMICS EDITOR. Comics looks easy. There are 1,000 sins you will commit if you haven't written a comic before and an editor will save your ass.

It's very hard to be creative right now

en esta economía??????

🦅 SAVIN THE EAGLES 🦅 I’m running a short campaign to aid some local eagles. I’ve had it with billionaires taking over habitats and this one is in my very own backyard. Reposting also helps a lot, if you don’t have funds to spare.

A lot of folks wanted this to use on their own projects and such so I made a patreon post (free and public) with a download for the illustrator file or a PDF of the asset guide. You can find it here. www.patreon.com/teeketch/pos...

Next tat is definitely going to be a say’s phoebe. They’re so special to me, I love them sm

Like many creatives here I'm in danger of becoming extinct as increasing numbers of clients feed from the trough of AI slop. So I'll be promoting my posters etc a bit more. If you could support me by buying something or spreading the love that would be fab. Have a Great Tit to start the weekend. xx
