The fifth is He that made all things for love; be the same love it is kept and shall be withoute end. The sixth is that God is al thing that is gode, as to my sight, and the godenes that al thing hath, it is He. (4/5)

Disappointingly, I have figured out how to sort of cheat at Outlier, and got the 36th highest score using an anonymous account. Using my own skills alone, I seem to be getting worse. Perhaps I just need to learn lots of UK dialect words. This is my Wordle meltdown all over again.

I think one of the most interesting under written about things right now is "What is our general epistemic situation with AI progress? Is it possible to think seriously about it at all? What are the meta-rational moves we should be making to try to figure out what's actually up in the near future?"

People are generally better persuaded by the reasons which they have themselves discovered than by those which have come into the mind of others. #Pensees

So, friends, every day do something that won’t compute. Love the Lord. Love the world. Work for nothing. Take all that you have and be poor. Love someone who does not deserve it. Denounce the government and embrace the flag.

Hope to live in that free republic for which it stands. Give your approval to all you cannot understand. Praise ignorance, for what man has not encountered he has not destroyed. Practice resurrection. RIP, Wendell Berry

The difference between the mathematical and the intuitive mind.—In the one the principles are palpable, but removed from ordinary use; so that for want of habit it is difficult to turn one's mind in that direction: (1/2)

Realizing that clinicians prefer the TINNitus pronunciation of tinnitus because there’s no -ITUS/swelling going on. And I think that’s a swell reason to use it.

```sql SELECT a.ArtistId, a.Name, SUM(il.Quantity * il.UnitPrice) AS TotalSales FROM Artist a JOIN Album al ON a.ArtistId = al.ArtistId JOIN Track t ON al.AlbumId = t.AlbumId JOIN InvoiceLine il ON t.TrackId = il.TrackId GROUP BY a.ArtistId, a.Name ORDER BY TotalSales DESC LIMIT 5;
The image attached uses a macron over a vowel to indicate an n — something I haven't seen before. It is from a reprint of Browne's 1557 A treatise of reformation without tarying for anie. I think this is used only in this (hypothetical) quotation, which is set in italics. Anyone seen this before?
