Hello from #AGNTCon! I'm presenting about what we learned building the @honeycomb.io MCP server. If you'd like to follow along, follow this thread! Otherwise, feel free to mute it. Let's get it started!

It’s sad to see Deno being discontinued. However, I think it’s not all terrible. Deno pushed server side JS forward for everyone - Node copied many the standout features Deno had at launch in 2020, bringing them to the masses. Fetch, web sockets, web crypto, direct TypeScript execution, and more. 🫡

Cloudflare is launching eight major updates that bring logs, traces, analytics, alerts, dashboards, querying, and telemetry export into one observability platform, with simpler and more predictable pricing. https://cfl.re/4xXgEmU #BirthdayWeek

Giving an agent read-only access to the telemetry data of a well-instrumented system and asking a question is a wild experience They are very good at this, easily better than the vast majority of engineers, and unlike engineers their attention is very cheap

saw someone say AI can’t write SQL some data for anyone that cares - @honeycomb.io offers agents a query tool against our datastore; it’s a custom JSON schema, which means it’s very unlikely to be something models know very well from the jump

Let's see what progress we can make with fetch itself... three new proposed changes: receiving trailers, sending trailers, and receiving 1xx responses: * github.com/whatwg/fetch... * github.com/whatwg/fetch... * github.com/whatwg/fetch... Covers at least part of the existing gap.

Replying to @charity.wtf

There are many things to critique about AI. But I think treating it as uniquely evil, and not just a continuation of technological innovation, gives it power it does not deserve. And it delegitimizes real, harder critiques when we seem to be grasping for reasons to hate it.

Last Monday was my first day as Principal Systems Engineer at Cloudflare! 🎉 I'll be working on Observability systems for Workers and all of Cloudflare. Super excited about this next leg of my journey.

Marvin is another lovely talented person I had the pleasure to work with who you should try and snag for your company if you can!

Yesterday was my last day at Deno. It's rare you get to work with so many highly skilled peers in one place, but I'll be now cheering from the sidelines. Not sure yet what comes yet. I'm officially looking for a job now!

Today is my last day with the Deno team 🦕💖💔 I know they're gonna keep making awesome things. But now *I* need to make awesome things for someone else! If you're looking for a DevRel with a JS focus and extra sparkle, get in touch!

Yesterday was my last day at Deno. I'm going to transition from two days a week to full time on a business I cofounded in the auto glass industry. My plan is to increase my contributions to my personal open source projects and keep contributing features/fixes to Deno that I need or want.

Yesterday was my last day at Deno. From today, I'll be cheering the talented team on from outside the org. This also means that I'm now considering my next move in the DX/DevRel/Technical marketing space.

Personal update: I resigned from Deno two weeks ago. Yesterday was my last day at Deno. Working on Deno, Deno Deploy, JSR, and Fresh with my world class colleagues has been an absolute honor. I wish everyone who I have worked with at Deno the absolute best - continue building groundbreaking things!
