I like how most of the news out of America is like: "Finally, this development means the evil-doers will be stopped" Followed by another update: "The evil-doers have decided to just keep going and no-one is going to stop them actually"

One day we are going to make AI that is so good that someone will ask it to destroy all AI and we'll have to start again from scratch.

Just started watching Spy X Family. I sort of avoided it before because it didn't strike me as something I'd enjoy but I see now why it works. The girl is able to read minds which was probably critical for me enjoying the scenario and there are a lot of sight gags. I think i'll keep watching it

Ah, while my food was being made I browsed the internet and found food that looks more delicious than what I've been making. This is devastating. I'm devastated.

“Hey, can we just talk about life right now without bringing up politics?” “I want to know talk about human biology but can we just ignore blood and bones? And also organs. Tissue as well.” “I just want to focus on matter itself and not carbon. Can you just leave carbon out of everything?”

Could we maybe collectively agree to not get our news from screenshots of social media posts making unsourced claims? "Why won't the mainstream media post this devastating news from this screenshot??" ... Probably because they made it up

Has NATO seriously got to do a show of force toward an ally to try and convince them to remain an ally? WWIII is gonna not just suck but also be the most incomprehensibly dumb situation possibly imaginable. I hope we avoid further escalation here

To protest a regime that undermines the rights of its citizens, especially women - People again took to the streets last night. Demanding removal of their dictator, they brave the threat of violence from an auxiliary police force with a history of killing citizens. There were also protests in Iran.

Starmers real problem isn't how he responds here to Venezuela but how he now plans for contingencies on Greenland. You can weasel out of a strong response on an attack against an autocratic regime. What do you do when an ally attacks an ally?

What is happening in Venezuela is crazy and while facts are slowly emerging right now - We won't have the whole picture yet until the atlantic journalist they've invited into signal group chat comes forward with the full details.

Tragic result. Just put cold water into my cup with the teabag in. Apparently I didn't put the kettle on after filling it and getting distracted

Seeing a lot of bad faith engagement bait posts pop up recently. Stay alert for them and just mute/block them. Best case they are trolls seeking a reaction, worse case they are intelligence operations seeking to destabilise. In any case, not worth interacting with even if the worm is very tasty

RIP Youtube, you were always there to distract me when I had important things to do and now here I am, not doing important things and not having youtube to blame.

So how many days of US Government shutdown before they have a techbro in an ATC tower trying to figure out how to get ChatGPT to direct the planes

My favourite part about loading up the nightmare rectangle is finding out that things are actually worse than I thought and have gotten far more dire than the last time I loaded up the nightmare rectangle.

Schumer getting them to change the name of the bill is probably a gift to them rather than a flex. Now there is an additional layer of confusion available a la Obamacare / ACA. Would have been better to stamp Trump's name on it, which its previous name did better than what it is now.

I've just finished watching The Handmaidens' tale series and look.. I'm not saying they should never be allowed to work in TV anymore but I am saying whoever is in charge of the zoom level of the camera should not ever be the person to make that decision in their future projects.

Hi Friends, Voting for the Emmys opens today. The Failure, Fear, and Frenzy around Luigi Mangione is officially on the ballot. If it makes it to the next round of nominations, it’ll be the first time a full length stand up special released independently only on YouTube makes it this far.

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence. They are in charge.

Things look pretty bleak right now. I think before I was always assuming everyone would come to their senses and work through things. Let's hope that turn around can happen in years rather than decades. I guess I should get to work on being the change I want to see rather than just hoping for it.

Whoever designed the Pixel 9 to have the camera bump deserves to have hooks periodically put into their belt loops every few hours for the rest of their lives.

It isn't surprising to see EA cancel Black Panther, shut down the studio EA doesn't make games for gamers, EA makes games for money This isn't really a new development in EA as a company. The reason they had a big IP to cancel is to rely on the strength of the IP to make sales not the game quality

This is not to say that the individual developers would not be working to make a great experience at the now closed studio but that it really is a second order consideration for a large corporate publisher like EA. It is very sad to hear those at the studio have lost this opportunity.

To be fair, "Your shelves are empty because we had to block China from trading with us for helping Iran" is a much easier way to keep his followers convinced than "Oh yeah, these tariffs really did just make everything real bad for us"

Hmm, so I assume one of the next steps in the US will be stopping the release of government financial data. It is going to keep generating negative headlines and they can't fix it because they don't understand, but they can probably hide it. Or-well let it tell a different story.

I need us to solve the male loneliness epidemic so that I can go onto a games forums without having to see nothing but the most deranged beliefs about what game developers 'owe' to their game communities.

I was looking forward to Amber Ruffin doing the WHCD. Looking in at the US from the outside, it just seems like another demonstration of just how some of the US isn't even fighting to keep their rights anymore. Many places hoping others will do it for them while they fold. Kinda sucks to see.

In this brief, I will outline why neither Mark S nor Mr Scout are criminally responsible for the unfortunate workplace accident that befell Mr Drummond. The Lumen corporation failed to provide adequate training on transitory effects of its Severance product and as such are liable for incidents of..

Hmm, I think Episode 8 has probably been the weakest of the season. It was a long way around to get us to see what happened and is also the second episode in a row taking us away from the core events. It is a bit of a downer to get a second misdirect in a row and a third for the season. #severance

I find it is important to take solace in the small wins, but I was really hoping to see like a whole bunch of big wins if I'm being honest.
