I agree with this, but it’s astonishing that we’re still having this conversation. Musk’s X is the losers lunch-table, occupied only by Nazis and try-hard desperados.

It's not even the ethics of it. My career, my hobbies, my free time, hell, my whole life took off once I fully left Twitter. It is a place to go if you want to be stuck in a neverending race war feedback loop. Like not using ChatGPT, not using Twitter is a superpower. Remain employable; stay off it.

Everyone in creative work for hire knows most of the job is clients asking you for something bad and stupid and you figuring out how to make something completely different while convincing them it's what they asked for. The AI era means everyone gets to see what clients actually want

Turns out the friction of having to learn photoshop was a crucial firewall protecting society from the terrible taste of small business owners

Guy trying to impress a girl he’s working with by showing her AI images he made for their project on a patio. Him: “They look great don’t they?” Her: “Yeah. I kinda feel bad about the art world though.” Him: “The thing is, I could totally make images like this, so it’s not a skill issue.”

What a fuuuuucking terrible idea!

#Breaking: The federal government will allow private ownership of four major airports — including Toronto’s Pearson, Canada’s busiest — in a move that breaks with a decades-long arrangement that saw them run by non-profits on government-owned land.

Pull your work off of Webtoon right now if you've put anything on there, allowing AI to be trained off their platform's work so "fans" can make AI "fancomics" is horrible, horrible. Pull it right now.

If you laboured for 3 days on a painting, or angrily scribbled a drawing, or obsessed about the perfect note in a song, that art is CORRECT, because it's helping you process something. It's you expressing yourself and sharing your soul to others. And that is the point of art.

I just logged on to this website, and saw 30+ notifications and thought "Oh shit, what did I do?" Nothing. It was just all my previous notifications from the last few weeks were new again. #vibecoded

Chauvin was, in fact, the cause of Floyd’s death. He used a technique that MPD and most other agencies have banned, specifically because it causes death. And the crime for which he was convicted is unintentional second-degree murder, which by definition does not require intent to kill.

Is there ever a time now when he's not trying to ignite a race war?

What if you bought a tour bus with your inheritance to fulfill your and your best friend's dream of becoming rock stars but just completely missed the part where he's been in love with you this whole time? #webcomic #radiosilencecomic

RADIO SILENCE is a queer coming-of-age drama about a British rock band’s rise to fame. Forbidden romance between band members, rival rock bands, terrible people coming back from their pasts - so much drama for one tour bus! radiosilencecomic.com #WIP #YA #R #LGBT #Dis #questpit #webcomics

14 hours later and my mentions are still full of angry treatises about badly behaved cyclists. Bike lanes are not a reward for good cyclist behavior! They are infrastructure proven to make cities safer for ALL ROAD USERS. Whatever way cyclists have wronged you is irrelevant to the discussion!

Katie Mack@astrokatie.com

Every conversation about bike lanes is like: "Car crashes kill a huge number of people every day, including pedestrians, cyclists, & car occupants. Good bike infrastructure has been shown to make everyone safer (& doesn't increase congestion)." "But sometimes cyclists break rules & hit people!"

Sky News is broadcasting live a Reform UK media conference led by Nigel Farage. But Farage is a candidate in a byelection. But Sky News is not giving equal exposure to the other candidates in Thursday's byelection. Surely Sky News is breaking media impartiality rules?

We need to treat this kind of thing as what it is — tax evasion. You built your business in one state/province, but you move once you’re successful to pay less in taxes? That’s you evading taxes. Wisconsin tax payers will evade paying taxes if Francesca Hong becomes governor.

Elizabeth Spiers@espiers.bsky.social

Lolol the wapo opinion page now

I understand that doesn’t actually fall in the definition of evasion, but it really is the same thing in spirit. You make your money driving Wisconsin roads, eating Wisconsin food, taking your kids to Wisconsin schools, and then when a lady says you should give a little back you leave? Shame.

I’m astonished by the ability of my fellow humans to forget the events we all just lived through. Folks remember the masks and the remote school. The million US dead are rarely mentioned. Folks, we lived through a plague.

I need someone to ask him about this. like, is he AWARE that chat gpt makes shit up? was he under the impression that it was giving him facts like a search engine? was his ignorance of how AI works that big? or did he know and not care? what's the truth here?
