Twitter / X has been banning legit Japanese users recently, the discussion is exploding in Facebook. I don't know if Bluesky gained new users from Japan because of it.

I cleaned the "likes" on my other accounts, a few days later, the "For You" feed no longer has data to work with other than those I kept (labeler settings likes). Now I can better control the For You feed. 😁

I'll probably do a regunar "likes" clean every quarter. Should be enough for For You, and also my account is easier to read with less data, when using services that goes through everything.

The fix @witchsky.app did to the unfeature @bsky.app upstream introduced in v1.136 is brilliant. 1. De-couple "Post Languages" from "Settings > Primary Language" 2. Introduce a multilingual-friendly "Settings > Default Post Languages" option 3. Rename "Primary Language" to "Translation Language".

Since Bluesky upstream v1.136, "Post Language" always return to "Settings > Primary Language" which only allows a single language. Obviously, it is _not_ multilingual-friendly. It is a regression. The fix Witchsky did was above and beyond (upstream should be Witchsky, not Bluesky), they

de-coupled the "Post Language" from "Settings > Primary Language" then introduced "Settings > Default post languages" which is multilingual-friendly. Meanwhile, Witchsky renamed the very confusing "Settings > Primary Language" to "Settings > Translation language". That's what you call a feature.

Oh no. This is just the start. This happened to me on my original account. After they confirmed the first video, they restored the account and then flagged it again after 30 days. Then I had to go through video verification again. Then they flagged it again after 30 days or so …

and asked for a video verification for the third time. They declined it. They never replied back ever. Their CEO will ignore you too but if it's from someone with a gazillion followers, the CEO treats them special and apologizes personally. That's Instagram for you.

I'm sorry but this is an extremely weak response, on so many levels. 1) You can already query the pronouns of the vast majority of the userbase because most of the people on this application have their pronouns in their bio. It's a single regex to sift through said bios to link user->pronoun.

ok checking the bsky profile links thing as im working in putting it to wafrn: - SHORTENER_DOMAINS seem to be client-sided blocked so with another client you can add those, but - BLOCKED_DOMAINS seem to be appview blocked so even if you add it it will be hidden from the bsky client
