Onyx Nansel

Hey there Bluesky! My name is Onyx, and I'm an artist with a passion for stories. I love playing video games, listening to horror podcasts and reading SFF books 😁 I'll be posting artworks of all kinds of different mediums, and my thoughts about whatever media I'm currently consuming!

Thinking about Pride medieval marginalia instead of Pride angels...

Handshakes: Hands On: The recent buzzy one. I'm not big on sokobans but this one did charm me with its jam-style quirky and unexpected mechanics. store.steampowered.com/app/4942610/...

Hey everyone! So, I've had my commissions closed for a long time, and life has been bumpy, but I think I may have some time to open 1-2 cover slots, depending on volume and deadline, starting soon. Wouldn't mind some fantasy/ttrpg work. Some samples:

Sometimes I browse through heritage auctions and I find the occasional odd gem, but today I stumbled upon the mother-load: these ridiculous grocery store ads promoting the release of The Jungle Book, and each one has me absolutely reeling. Sharing them here so you too can share in my bewildered joy

ugh can't believe this one is 5 years old now.

Fell down a Ron Francis rabbit hole after seeing this post earlier. Sublime

Just found my old man wondering around trying to pee. He's only letting out a few drops at a time, and obviously has urinary crystals, and most likely a blockage. I don't get paid till next week, but need to take him to the vet now. Donation link below, I am also open for coms. ko-fi.com/mathraptor

Howard Stanley Crewe (1871–1919) was one of the first spirit photographers. These Spiritualists claimed to capture images of the deceased using tricks like double exposure. Though Crewe's images show the same signs of manipulation, his last portraits show something that still puzzles researchers (🧵)

Here is the 19th Major Arcana: The Moon 🌕️ A headless body rises to pluck the Moon from its dark, starry sky, so as to place it upon its own shoulders. What do you think of this card? How do you interpret it? The next card is the Sun ☀️ #darkfantasy #horror #ttrpg #soulsborne #monster #art

the way this is actually a really good mental health tip

This was a really fun commission I did a few years ago for a fantastic ttrpg project that I hope sees the light some day. A city where its residents represent the different stages of death? Yes please. #ttrpg

It's cool when arts institutions make the artwork in their care available for public domain high resolution download. Getting up close to Belgian Symbolist and gloomy night owl Léon Spilliaert's flippin' haunting self portrait (1908)...
