I’m already disallusioned with people who call themselves socialists. The child asked what he would do. He went on a long walk to say nothing new, just restated the question in adult speak. At least he supports public school, but probably never went to one.

Not at all. The average 10 yr old in Western Colorado has no idea what a political agenda is. Half don’t know what an agenda is. Don’t turn kids into political props. Don’t do it. Ever. -now from a guy who was the mayor of his home town during COVID and whose own kids got abused by said agenda.

When I was a 5th grader, I was listening to news, writing essays about current events, and so on. There was a lot I didn’t understand, but some adults helped me learn to think critically—including some who didn’t actually share my views, but who thought it important I learn how to think for myself.

My kid's superintendent earns nearly $200k per year, while the schools are falling apart. Btw <400 kid's in our district in Illinois. I am sure the same can be said about any school district in the USA. Top down doesn't work, top keeps it while the bottom foots the bill.

Make teaching better. Make educational outcomes better. Pass a law limiting elementary classes to 15 students. Hire more teachers. Build new schools. Prepare children for the rest of their lives by giving teachers more time to focus on each child.
