I tried to listen to my Rep Beth VanDuyneTX-24, but she was so egregious. She when on a long tirade about Abrego Garcia when asked about due process. Touted the Republican proposed tax cuts on how they will be good for everyone. I had difficulty believing the crazy numbers she was throwing out.

In-person town halls can also be scripted. I attended one in which questions had to be submitted in advance, and there was no opportunity for follow-up questions. Our (GOP) Congressman did ALL of the talking and no listening.

I’ve been on a few with my representatives (Democrats) and there were questions from people who disagreed with the representative. I don’t think they are ALL scripted.

I was on one with Sam Graves a few years ago. Got my question in before it even started. Wouldn’t you know it, they took all the “good ole boy’s” questions that basically praised him, but they just didn’t have time to get to mine.

Beth Van Duyne just had a telephone call hall at 6:30 PM yesterday that she sent me an email about at 10:30 that morning. It was exactly as you said, and only strong supporters' calls were answered.

Kiley is also my MOC. I listened to one of his first town halls and then did not receive a call for the second one. What I heard was basically an infomercial for a future run for governor delivered to a captive audience.

I used the system to get in line to ask a question at the top of the last call. NEVER got around to me and my question, after listening to the facilitator encourage several times people to ask questions. I felt as though they know I am a Dem and not allowed to speak.

One thing I like about C-SPAN is they get some of the most unhinged callers and that is about as unscripted as you can get.
